TIA man TIA. Where are you at? I'm guessing somewhere central. I tried my luck in South Africa but the reverse partide going on there wasn't helping. I never met a pilot group as uninviting as them, wouldn't even help me with converting to SA license. Stay safe.

That`s what many SAs told me too, the porblem about the rest of Africa is that many countries do not give out work and residence permits anymore to expat pilots, most of the taxi/charter companies are owned and operated by expats, they are more then open to hire locals, since it cuts down the costs of getting a pilot too, the average foreign costs at least 3K USD in paperwork, but many times the locals do not meet the standards set by the company.
In Kenya, one of the countries where the national airline is hiring a lot, is facing a shortage of bush pilots, many good local pilots leave to fly turbo props for the airlines but the govt won`t allow the company to replace them with expats and wants them to hire one of the many CPL holders that just sit around becasue they don`t have the standards, and didn`t got hired in the first place becasue of that.
