I have the unenviable task of booking airline tickets for most of the management in our company when the WX is not conductive to flying our airplane... (Or we are double- booked) I have our safety manager on the ground in CLE that called and said that the reason that they were shutting the engines down was to save fuel as it was going be a while before they took off. The captain informed them that the delay was due to the fact that there is an airplane off the runway. (No info as to T/O or Lndg) They are presently in line for the de-ice pad, with the engines shut down. Rough weather today, in the midwest and down towards Florida.
