They can't find anyone with 1500 most likely. More incentive. If anything it's good interview practice. I'm sure others will follow! Hang on tight! So just why do you imagine that Shureptaqua is doing this first? Because the future is wine and roses with a rapid upgrade? Cause, see, I've got this bridge in Brooklyn...
Isn't 1200 now good enough for an ATP for some "chosen ones"??
Yes, captain I'm flying with got called last week. I'm just over 1000 and will be getting my ATP the old fashioned way. Hopefully I can get a call to interview at 1200. I'm flying 110-115hrs a month at my part 135 airline now so it shouldn't be more than a couples months from 1200 to 1500. I'm sure there is a limit on how long you have to get there.
What are most new hires getting? Q, 170? Doesn't matter either way to me.
the mainline aircraft
Lolwhut?
I guess with all the new 170s they are getting most would get that. I'd actually want to Q in DEN but I hear that's unattainable at the moment. 145s pretty staffed up?They'll call you first for a 145 or Q class and tell you that you should really take it because of seniority. But if you hold out you can get the mainline aircraft a few weeks later.
What are the junior Q bases? Any chance of Denver? How are the trips?
I figured as much. My plan is to move to Denver after this current gig/reach ATP mins. I'm trying to get on with a company that has a Denver base or somewhere relatively close. I wonder how the commute to IND or CMH is? Those trips are probably pretty uncommutable?bases are DEN, MCI, PIT, EWR
Probably no chance of DEN out of class and just a guess, but it will take you a while to get there. (again just a guess since a lot of guys went to the Q just to get the DEN base)
99% of DEN trips are out and backs, albeit to bad ass locations (vail, steamboat, durango) but also to KC and OKC
not sure about the other bases but I know there is a larger route structure out east.
