Republic

I see, thanks. I live in Columbus,OH and I'm trying to find an airline to fly with. Does anyone know who is bases in CVG or CLE, and are they junior bases? Thanks

Comair has a CVG base...but you probably want to steer clear of that place.

As far as CLE goes, ExpressJet and Commutair (I think) but I'm not sure how jr/sr it goes for either.

CLE for Commutair is going to be senior now due to the SYR base opening.

PSA has a DAY base.

Guys have been getting CLE out of training on the FO side for XJT. Who knows it that will continue.

Trying to get hired by an airline based on bases is a pretty narrow way to look at reality isn't it? I guess that's home so I understand, but what happens when that bases closes or goes super senior to you? What's plan B for you then?

Although true it can't hurt to try. Also if a nearby base goes belly up he could have the necessary seniority for a line somewhere else when the time comes. Reducing commuting hassles while on reserve is a huge QOL bump from what I understand.

RAH has a base in Columbus for 3 of their certificates, it's a junior base for Shuttle and Republic.

What's the latest on RAH anyway?

Unfortunately I overheard a very giddy female FO on the crew bus here in Atlanta say "My friend at Republic says they're going to be striking soon, that'll be good for us..."

Eh?

the way CommutAir is running new hire classes you would be able to hold CLE in 3 months or so. ComAir is now officially going away AFAIU.

CLE shouldnt be too hard to hold with XJT, but we arent hiring at the moment and prob wont be until the fall.

No, I haven't.

She was sitting across from our old director of ops - who, thankfully - tempered her excitement.

Also - she just so happens to be in our pilot recruiting department. Don't ask me how that happened.

It's very possible but not guaranteed... we've asked for release from negotiations but the NMB may or may not even release us because it is an election yr. If they do it's 30 days after being released but the company will fall apart quick if we do strike so management will probably cave...

It's been about 3weeks and I haven't heard a thing from Republic. Do I need to go through airlineapps ? Any Republic pilots have any thoughts?
