Republic

No, I haven't.

She was sitting across from our old director of ops - who, thankfully - tempered her excitement.

Also - she just so happens to be in our pilot recruiting department. Don't ask me how that happened.

I'll tell ya how it happened......just via PM.

We're not going to strike. Deal will be made at the last minute. People get excited over nothing.

Last I heard we were interviewing continuously.

I see, thanks. I live in Columbus,OH and I'm trying to find an airline to fly with. Does anyone know who is bases in CVG or CLE, and are they junior bases? Thanks
The republic family of airlines is very entrenched in CMH, and also has a small base in CLE still. What are your times? Give me some info via PM and ill see what I can dig up as far as prefered methods.

Trying to get hired by an airline based on bases is a pretty narrow way to look at reality isn't it? I guess that's home so I understand, but what happens when that bases closes or goes super senior to you? What's plan B for you then?
CMH would be a good, central place to live IMO, even if the worst case scenario happened and you couldnt hold it right away. In RAHs case you have a large base in ORD with S5 and Lots of other bases that would be a short drive or flight. PIT was just annouced on the Republic side as a Q4 base along with the 170s.

I totally get the idea, just making sure the OP doesn't have blinders on to the fact that that may not be his base forever. I live in Chicago, so honestly, even with all the RAH stuff, I'd seriously consider them once I'm qualified so I could hold ORD.

Unfortunately with all the companies furloughing, bankrupt, or closing they're doors entirely in the short term there's still a lot of pilots out there... My buddy just interview and said there quite a few high timers from the military along with guys/gals from Colgan, Pncl, Comair, etc. All with a lot more than the mins...

Heard 1500 /100 ATP written to be done. No prob, classes full. No reduction in times at this time.
Straight from lead recruiter "Effective 8/1 candidates must have a minimum of 1500 total hours fixed wing, 200 multi and 100 instrument hours and their written ATP."

What's the deal with the school these days? In my class a few months ago most of us showed up and about half of the original class is still here... I'm hearing mixed rumors now of all ex-colgan classes and only 10 of 30 showing up? Is the attrition still that high?

So what happened to everybody? Quit or washed out?

The CHQ schoolhouse is stuck in 1970's thought.
The RP and S5 schoolhouse is more uptodate.

Failures generally come from the sim where people can't manage the aircraft.

So does that mean he is still on the hook for the $20k?
no...contracts start upon checkride completion

I was in the S5 class a few months ago, 31 in class consisting of:
1 midwest recall
1 CHQ trasnfer
28 new hires (22 had prior 121/135 experience, 3 came from CFI'ing, 3 random flying)
[of those 22: 4 colgan, 3 Eagle, 1 Ameriflight, 1 Dynamic aviation, 1 furloughed Ryan Air - he later quit 1 hour before checkride (don't know details), the rest were random 135 ops)
1 no-show

result, 26 are now flying the line, 2 were asked to leave(don't know details) , 2-3 failed oral and/or checkride multiple times.

1 failed sim and asked to leave, but somehow is now in groundschool for Silver airways to fly the Saab...as a captain....explain that one!?!?

times ranged from 800-15,000 (not a typo) age ranged from 24-51

enjoy

anyone on here recently hired by Republic or PSA?

Been at RAH for 4 1/2 years,I'd stay far away from this company, honestly. Your seniority at this company really means nothing, which is unfortunate........Like others have said, training is stuck in the 1970s. Company really could care less about their employees flying their planes, and this contract that has been expired for 5+ years, looks like it will be at least another year before we get one. Strike vote was denied from the Mediator. I would definitely think twice before coming here.
