Republic Orders 24 EMB190's...

No idea about DH8. But theyve decided to go without them for one reason or another. MX and Passengers booking away from them are often cited reasons. Best case scenario for RAH guys is for the PLanes that are being replaced, be placed into service doing something else for RAH in way or another.

Roger. I know I have been a bit negative about RAH in the past, I think working for Mesa for 2 years (and being a volunteer on the grievance committee) made me a bit of a cynic! But I think if you guys can come together as a unified group you'll do great. I bet Management loves the sniping back and forth.

I don't think that's a fair characterization of why these pilot groups made the decisions that they did. In both cases, scope was the issue at the forefront. Tough decisions were made on other issues in order to ensure that job security was guaranteed. An industry-leading FO rate doesn't do much for you when a holding company can just steal your flying and give it to someone else.

Contract decisions aren't always easy, but monday morning quarterbacking always is.

That's true, but I was also referring to the most recent Mesa contract. It wasn't the NCs fault, really. They negotiated for what the polls said the pilots as a whole wanted. Having seen the raw data from the polls it was apparent most at Mesa at the time were counting on quick upgrades.

I think they did a fairly good job though. The quick turn contract was a good idea, as Mesa will be back in section 6 in a few months and other airlines are still negotiating.

The Mesa NC has also worked tirelessly through the past 2 years on LOAs that improve quality of life and mitigate furloughs. It's hard work when the other side won't even listen when you give them proof a change will be cost neutral or even save some money it's all "oh, you want it? Then give up something else. I don't care that it won't cost anything."
