On the subject of children of pilots touring...
A couple months ago I ran a FRASCA sim for one of the tour groups, all the prospective students had taken a turn and there was some time left so I asked if any of the significant others/parents wanted to try it. One father jumps in to take a turn. Here I am trying to explain the real basics like rotate at 55 and that means just a slight pull back on the yoke and how the altimeter will show how high he is, just real simple instructions.... he's real nice and says OK and then flys the sim perfectly! I'm like, uh, you have flown before eh? Turns out he's a one of the trainers for Northwest. I should have jumped into the sim and had him show me a thing or two. Anyway, a real cool guy and at least I didn't come across like an idiot... he did say he was impressed with the school for the most part.
After reading that story, it just isn't as interesting as I thought. Oh well, I already wrote it, so I might as well post it.
