Realignment Round 2 at 9E

hey kell. they aren't talking about pref bid. They are talking about your base standing bid. the one with the long list of possible bases where you put them in order. mine has changed to my number 1 choice.... you can probably guess what that one is. but till its posted it doesn't mean anything.

yeah I know that's what I want. Especially after seeing my mock bid. I have to commute up the day before most of my trips. That leaves me 9 days off next month. Even if I do get to get back home who knows when they will make it effective. I could go straight there since I don't require any training. Whether or not they will let me is the question.

From what CS sent out today, sounds like they found lots of errors after checking their work. Hard to think that this coming Monday will be two weeks since the intial was supposed to be out.



Honest questions here for those who may (or may not) know...

1. With the headache that 11-09 has become, are they still planning on an initial and final award?

2. What happens with the 9E vacation bidding for 2012 if for some reason this award pushed into November?

I was thinking what everyone was talking about was logging into PBS and seeing what category you were in at the top. Why would the base standing bid change unless you've changed it?

Edit: Nevermind. I see what you're talking about at the top of the standing bid. I do know some guys mentioned PBS at some point. It's still showing me as a JFK 200 CA, but, uh.....my employee number changed?!??!

Did your employee number change completely, or are there just a couple of new digits in front of your old employee number?

Mine has a '21' in front of my 9E number, and if memory serves, those changes were made to keep potential employee number conflicts from happening with XJ employee numbers. Your employee number didn't change, it is just a technical item so we don't confuse the computers any more than 11-09 already did. :)
 
Anyone know if this update from Pat is on MyMesaba? I'm not seeing it where all the other updates have been posted. I saw the text version of it above, just frustrated that I would have been waiting all weekend for an update had it not been for coming here.

Yeah. I get more days off even with commuting than I would on reserve in base. Plus, it's about 15-20 hours more a month holding a line vs being on reserve. That, and if/when I move to MCO, I don't wanna be stuck commuting to MEM until after May.
 
I know this realignment has been a mess and everyone is waiting on it, but I've been waiting in the hiring pool since July. Does anyone have an idea if they might have a new hire class before the end of the year?? Thanks.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a class date this year. There are guys in class right now from the last realignment bid and I would imagine their priority right now is getting those guys through before starting up any new hire classes. I don't even think Memphis can handle all that. I know some classes are doing Indoc in Memphis, and then systems up in Minny. I would guess sometime early in 2012 for a class date. But what do I know, I'm only a line pilot.

This. Training is backlogged like WOAH right now just handling guys and gals being displaced. I don't think they even want to think of new hires right now. Reality will set in when they say "Phew. Glad all that training is done" and we're short 100 people because of attrition....

Heck... by the time they finally get this realignment figured out, we will be 100 people short. If they have no new hires between now and when the training for the two realignments is finished, we are going to be screwed going into next summer. Not that it will be any different than any other summer here the past couple of years...
