Realignment Round 2 at 9E

Interesting. I just purchased a second home and my bank manager looked at all my income verification and other paperwork and promptly said, "Great! I wish everyone had your credit and income level, this makes it so easy. You're sure you don't want a bigger house? LOL." My bank said nothing about requiring 6 months of payments in the bank. You might try another bank, or you might not have that great of credit or other issues. It pays to shop around for the best mortgage deal.

Different banks have different requirements, so I also recommend doing some shopping around.

For reference, wife and I were pre approved for a 375,000 30 yr fixed, no pmi/points. Mortgage on first house is 1800/mo. House hold income 215k/yr at 75hrs a month, 5k credit card debt (just bought new furniture, moving etc)

The joint bank act has been steady at about 1/3 of the annual income, and we prob each have 10 in our individual acts. Wifes fico was near 780, mine 740ish.. But, we elected not to buy in jersey.. 11k+ a year in property tax is just stoopid.. Plus, have you seen the gun laws?

The loans are out there.. Just forts shop around.

sure would be nice to get the ready reserve "A" team back together down there. I have MEM 200 then MEM 900 as my first two choices. sorry to hear about the house dilemma. for some reason i thought you were already out of town.

You guys can go right ahead and hold the fort down on Ready Reserve in MEM for me-2 and 1/2 years was enough time for me, and I think I've paid my dues as an FO. I'll take my 17 days off in JFK... Now if we're talking upgrade, I'll be back there in a heartbeat and I'll meet up with you guys at the Saucer on Pint Night.

As much as I hated RSV though, I do miss flying with the old MEM RSV crews and some of the routes out of MEM. I go back to MEM and do several turns out of there on the trip I start in the morning. Can't wait to hear "Come back wif cho flagship?" on the ops frequency again...

I've got Ready Reserve in the morning. I don't think I have flown once on any day I have been assigned RR since the new rules went into effect.

It was tough having to break in a whole new group of reserve pilots down here... still teaching them the rules.

And I see your "Come back wif cho flagship?" and raise you a "Copy..."

and i will double down with a "copy your transaction flagship"

Anybody foresee a scenario at 9L where a junior guy can hold Q CA but not SF3 CA? I'm thinking that may be a possibility.

Also, how are they running the numbers for the fence? BOS is only showing 18 CAs on our bid packet, but 20 on the realignment.

We're in the process of that right now. $15k in the bank, next to no debt, income right around $80k a year and a credit score north of 700. We've been given the run around by two different banks, and now we're with a mortgage broker that was supposed to get back to us "by the end of the week" with no calls. I remember a day when people actually WANTED your money.....It's not like we're asking for the moon, either. $160k for a house in this marker isn't that unattainable. It's just been a bad year all around for me so far.

I just did a MEM trip yesterday, and I have to commute to JFK on Tues morning around 2 am. God, I miss driving to work. The big question I have is this: if you're moving from base to base on the same equipment on this realignment bid, when do you go to the new base? There's no effective date on the bid. It just says that it covers all the classes until May of 2012.

Stryder, if I was already out of town, then I'd be staying put in JFK. This commute with no end in sight out of MEM is wearing me down. Plus, even if we DO get something in MCO, I've got a built in crashpad at my parents' house in MEM. :)

Had to go and jinx myself. Now I'm sitting in CLE with a broke airplane!

At least you're getting 4 hour min day (not like you're gonna break guarantee, but it's the though that counts). Back in the day (like January or so), you'd sit in CLE for 10 hours for the 2 hour block. You also have a much greater chance of timing out. :)

Hey Kellwolf.

While I have your attention, I've got a fresh Tailless Whip Scorpion dead in the garage. Do you want me to wrap it up and send it? He's not one of the "HOLY S---!!! That thing is the size of my HAND!!!!"-size, but maybe silver-dollar sized.

Nah. If he's dead, feel free to feed it to the cats. I got plenty of dead insects around here. Had a whole feeder colony of roaches go south last month.....

Not breaking guarantee... not by a long shot.

And 4 hours wasn't worth the headache that we had this afternoon.

Anyone know if they are planning to pick up flying in IAD and IAH, or are the added pilots going to be absorbed into reserve lines?

We already lost flying in IAH and have already seen cuts in a few trips out of IAD because of the fall draw down. I think additions are purely a new staffing model that anyone from 9L or 9E is just confused by after what out former "leaders" put us through.

Yeah, I am definitely not use to having no open time. When I went to look what was out there for next month in IAD there were only like four standups and that was it. I wonder what it will be like not having my phone ring on my days off.
