Rainy Days, Sunsets, and Clear Southern Skies

Rented out of a Central Florida airport for $299/hr, or $289/hr after a 30-hour upfront purchase (Amazing discount!!!!...not). I'm glad I didn't drop $9,000 dollars up front to fly this piece of junk. I'd be screwed out of way more than half of that! I'll omit the name of the airport in this post for the sake of the FBO. It's in all the videos, though. ;) The FBO, otherwise, was a great place. The plane...just...awful.

Hmm, would it be safe to assume the one you flew had the Thielert 1.7's? I've heard the plane was an absolute dog with those engines, but has progressively gotten better as they put new engines on it.

You are correct on all accounts.

I'd really like to fly them all just to see the difference. But the best I'm looking at right now, is sitting in the back of an IO-360 equipped one on a flight sometime. I can't justify driving an hour to fly one at 299/hr.

Has the one with the new Mercedes engines come out yet? If so what is the delivery date looking for that?

Which new Mercedes engine? They all (minus the IO-360) are Mercedes based engines. I would assume you are talking about the 2.0 Astro's, which as far as I know, are either available now or will be shortly.
