RAH management says no to extending FO pay rates

As many of you may have heard there was an LOA going through the pipeline to extend the current FO pay scales at RAH. Currently we top out at 4th year pay. Management has denied the LOA which isn't too surprising. However their reasoning behind the denial was upsetting to say the least. Certain upper management has said that it was punishment for the union's press release pertaining to the punitive attendance/sick policy. Take this as you will but this just shows all RAH pilots how much upper management cares about our well being.

Surprised? No. Disappointed? A little. I hope RAH guys/gals realize that everyone is watching what happens on your upcoming contract. Good luck.

You must be kidding. The LOA was even more insulting than the 4th year top out with its dollar raises. If management denied even that, you guys have a really tough road ahead. What will this mean with these integrations that are supposed to happen into an airline that tops out 4th year?

No one really thought that the new extension would really be approved but what is upsetting to us is the reasoning behind the company's decision. To answer your question though, Im not really sure. I think that the amalgamation process calls for the separate contracts to be pieced together where they need to be but I don't know how far this actually goes. If I had to guess I would assume that the RAH pay rates would remain the same as would Frontier's Airbus rates. I don't think you will see a Frontier FO going from his/her current pay rate to $37 and hour. I don't think they can legally do that. But who knows...

I thought the current LOA was something management was trying to "sneak by" you guys. It was uninspiring to say the least.

Do you honestly think the reason was what was suggested? "Retribution" sounds much more interesting than a simple "They won't pay us more because they don't have to."

I'm telling you guys....somebody needs to give BB and his team a reality check....and it needs to come from us. Obviously the IBT can't even get the company to follow the current contract.

NMB cards are coming soon....we gotta quit this crap.

It's a negotiating tactic to vilify the union. Nothing more, nothing less.RAH Mgt - "Look, out of the bottom of our hearts we offered to extend the FO scales. We didn't have to, but we did. And then they did this to us. See, we're the good guys and they're thankless greedy prima donnas"For how the integration proces goes all of the answers are in the RAH CBA and the other CBAS under successorship clauses. Also the RLA can provide the facts. No reason for know-nots to speculate and turn wrong guesses and postulate facts that create dissention and pointless arguments structured around false logic. I encourage you to do your own research as the RAH contract is available on the "other" forum and the RLA info at the NMB website. A great opportunity to learn about the process instead of stirring the pot based on BS.Carry on.

This LOA was initiated by the union. Management didn't come up with this. They just said that the reason they didn't approve the union's LOA was because of the fact that we released some negative stuff to the press.
