Hmmm, not Galaxy Quest. It's driving me crazy, too. I can even HEAR the line being said, but I can't place WHO is saying it....
Anyway, the FAA Wings program (probably stands for something, but I don't know what) is basically a program to promote GA safety. You fly for three hours with a CFI. One hour in the pattern, one hour doing stalls, etc, and one hour under the hood (I think, it might be something else). Throw in a boring FAA seminar (although I opted to shadow a controller in the tower), and you're done. It counts as a BFR, and I think some insurance companies may give you a break on premiums if you do it every year.
