So if you were a type rated pilot in a CE-500 type airplane under part 91 how does that pic time convert towards the 121 upgrade where 1000 hours is needed. Thanks in advance
What is the fractional partUnless you were acting as a PIC under 91.1053 (fractional) none of that flight time is eligible to be used towards the 1000 hours of experience required to serve as a part 121 PIC.
91”k”. If it was PIC for Netjets or the like it would count. That’s it. Otherwise it has 121 SIC or 135 PICWhat is the fractional part

I think it has to do with training and oversight and stuff. I mean most 91k ops had way better training and operations than most 135 operators lolInteresting 91 exception. I imagine that was the result of a bit of lobbying.
“I’ve gotta go do a flight then a staff meeting, click through this PowerPoint and fill out the written test when you’re done, I’ll buy you lunch when I get back”I think it has to do with training and oversight and stuff. I don’t think this is dumb at all.And people think the 1500 hr rule is stupid...

I just thought if you had atp those 91 pic counted but I learned something lol.If you look at the various times that count for the 1000 hours to upgrade, they are all operations that require an ATP by FAR. No straight Part 91 job requires an ATP by rule, only a commercial.
Even PIC time in a 135 on-demand King Air 90 doesn’t count.
