Apparently, you are the only one who thought it was sketchy. I too belong to SM and there are several other OTS applicants that were selected at this recent panel. They selected CTI, VRA, OTS (with Veteran Preference points) and 1 Reinstate. If you don't believe us, too bad. Until you do a little more research, you should postpone from calling people sketchy. I agree! I know this is the "first" step on the path to the job, but there are plenty of ppl who get this opportunity, only to go to the PEPC and be turned down for the job (and there are lots of ways that could happen). I've been turned down for PUBNAT2 and the "2nd round of PUBNAT2 (aka Louisiana offer)." I still have 7 and 8 to go!

How can you be turned down at the PEPC? Other than failing the drug test, medical, or MMPI, once you get to a PEPC you're pretty much guaranteed a TOL, right?
Yeah, assuming you can get through all the clearances, the job is yours.

You get selected, you're pretty much guaranteed a TOL. It's one of the reasons you named, or a really, really bad interview. That'd be a first around here, though.

the email mine came from was nothing even close to this, but it was an faa.gov email address. The subj. line in the email was: "Employment Inquiry ? My Full Name & T102809"

I feel ya on that note! I start the academy in a few weeks and remember how nerve wrecking this process can be. I'd be very suprised if you are picked up in SC...not so much NY but Good Luck!!

Why would you be surprised if I get picked up in SC? I called facilities there and they have openings for every facility (I don't know about FLO, I didn't contact them). Plus, GSP's ATM was awesome! I had a good feeling from him! Oh well, I must wait and see! Thanks for the luck!

I've been to the Lewis university today looking at CTI program. It would cost me about 35G to complete it. I'm 27, and I will be 29,5 by the time I graduate. What are the chances of me picked up by 31? Probably, no very high
I spoke to a ACT rep there. He said the chances are small. He stated there are currently 6000 people on the list (not sure which one. I'm thinking those are the one's who could be potencially interviewed +farther in process), but the need is under 3000. Also, he stated that due to the economy, there are about 3 new reps per 6 that are retiring... So, he advised to just wait and not spent big $ on school as that wouldn't make a big difference. I was hoping it would bring me to the top of the list, but obviously, "not high enough"...:dunno:
