***PUBNAT4***

Yep, it's well qualified... Congrats CirrusDriver!
Hey thanks!

Yeah, don't be to nervous. Just remember you have a good idea of what's on the test. Some people I tested with had never even heard of the green book and didn't know of any study guide such as Jeremy Justice. I couldn't imagine going in blind! I definitely thank everyone on this site for all the great info.

I'm transplanting two posts from PUBNAT3's thread that might apply to PUBNAT4.

A supervisor friend informed me the next set of panels are tentatively scheduled for late January. Anyone else hear of this?

I was told by pretty reliable source that the next panels meet in early/mid Nov for 3 and Mid Jan for 4. I hope I wasnt misinformed! Jan would be a long time to wait for pubnat3 !!!:(

wow...January...lawd...time to go get another beer...So once the Panels meet how long for a PEPC invite?

-or-

how long before the Geo-Pref's e-mail go out..??

I took my test on the Sept. 17th in Houston and got an 87.7. Unlike a lot people I actually came out thinking that I did better. I can't complain too much though it is well-qualified. On a side note, how do veteran's preference points work? I'm eligible for the 5 point preference, does that get added to the AT-SAT score or are the two not related? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Well, I just took my AT-SAT yesterday. I think I did alright, but I guess time will tell. I just wanted to thank all you guys for all the great info on here! Especially to chichi for the step by step run down, and to Rosstafari for pointing out why people apply to more than one PUBNAT :P I'm also part of PUBNAT-4, so here's to hoping for a swift process :D

don't quote me on this but i'll answer just to get more knowledgable responses for you in the future but I'm pretty sure that the veterans preference acts as a tie-breaking medium. One possible way it could now benefit you is that after you fill out geo prefs, if you're neck and neck with a civ that has a similar background and similar at-sat score, your veterans preference will kick in and boost you in front of the non-vet applicant. I think the same goes for vet vs. vet lets say you and I have the same at-sat score and similar education background.. I have 15 point preference for serving during a time of war and also being a disabled vet... if you have 10 point.. I will be placed in front of you.. and so on and so forth.

How it workes is if you served in a time of war you get 5 points and if you have a campain medal you get 10. also disabled vets w/30% comp get 10 points. the max amount of points a vet can get is 10. The point system works for your over all application not your test core. there are 2 catigories qual and well qual. for thoes selection boards they go by preferance first than test core. so vets with an 85% would get an interview before a civ with a 100%.
I called my VA rep and he explained the whole process. I just got my test scores back 88.9%. so by Ironsides 87.7% that almost ensures him an interview, unless he gets beat by vets with a 10 point pref or another vet with a 5 point pref that has a higher score.

I think I'm screwed with all these vets who applied for the nat4...Im have a hard time getting an panel selection:crazy:

Took the test last week in Covina, CA and got my results today - 98.7!

So the next step is geo prefs right? Any idea what kind of time line we're talking about for that step of the process?

Congratulations on the score.

Be ready for a wait with the preferences. It's been over a month since PUBNAT3 received our scores back and we haven't heard a thing.

Hey CAFFINE,

I took the test in Covina on the 17th as well. Where are your scores posted? I've looked all around the ASAP page where I applied but have yet to find where they post your results...

Your score will appear on the ASAP home page, right above where it says you were authorized to take the test. It'll also be under "User Information" then "Test Information"

It's funny, I totally missed where it said it right on the homepage there, and instead just jumped right to the User Information section to find the results. :P :laff:

thanks lestina i was wondering how the vet pref worked
i did 4 years airforce hope that gets me an interview

I am just curious as to when the PUBNAT4s are officially done testing. I talked to a lady at that number available on the ASAP homepage about a few different things, and she said that everyone must be done before any information goes out. Anyone know how much longer testing shall go?

zz :)

The last testing date on the email I was given for Chicago was Sep. 26th, but from the previous email, it looks like they could be going on over the next month or so still.
