***PUBNAT4***

That really sucks, Raydon... she couldn't do anything to get you in for PUBNAT4?

no.. and I'm not suprised. Anyone who's worked the phones long enough goes from helping everyone out as much as possible, to arguing with them on a regular basis, to being an apathetic little robot with no soul and dark beady little eyes...

in other words she's a pro.

I'm not surprised either, but every so often you can find a nice person who will help you... those are the surprises...

New phone call:

Me: (i lay my situation/story out)
"Given that your webpage doesn't indicate that we have to include
military experience in the employment history for it to be counted
as previous work experience, your system is at fault and I'm losing
out on the Pubnat4 authorization process."

operator: there's nothing we can do. if you didn't fill out the application
in the correct manner and the announcement has been closed
there's no way for us to go back in and change your information
and you'll have to just wait for the next announcement to
process.

Me: I understand that, but... once again, all of my qualifying work
experience is in the application and can be VIEWED as qualifying in
pubnat4. I fill everything out correctly per YOUR INSTRUCTIONS on
asap page.. but you failed to make note that our military experience
had to ALSO be included in employment. Is there any way I can get
it changed.

operator: If we went in and changed your information that means we
would also have to go in and change information for anyone
else who filled out their application information incorrectly.

Me: well, anyone else in the same situation I'm in DIDN'T fill anything out
incorrectly.. YOU FAILED TO INFORM US THAT WE HAD TO INCLUDE
IT in employment information. therefore your process is at fault and
the application/eligibility information may be skewed or otherwise
incorrect.. anyone in my shoes should be given a chance for further
review.

operator: i'm sorry but the announcement is closed and if you missed out
because you filled it out wrong you're going to have to wait
until the next announcement is processed...

:banghead:

Anyone have an in @ OKC?

Man that's a nightmare.

I'd suggest that you call back, and if you get the same answer ask to speak with that person's manager. If you don't like what the manager says, ask to speak to the manager's manager.

Keep it up. Call with positive and friendly attitudes so that they don't blacklist you or something for being frustrated (as you have the right to be).

At some point you'll get through to someone. I hope.

Well I haven't seen anything in my ASAP yet. I got the ATSAT offer for PUBNAT3 and had to decline because I was in Delaware that week. Maybe it's taking longer because I'm a Cali boy?

I think you should call... the system probably sees that you were already authorized for a previous announcement so it won't authorize you again. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but that's how I think it would anyway...

Everyone from PUBNAT4 should have some sort of AT-SAT message at this point, unless you were authorized for a previous announcement.

That is true from what I know also. If you have already been authorized and are waiting to take the ATSAT or have already taken it...then you won't get future authorizations since you can only take the test...what once a year? When you get your score it should reflect on all your applications.

Heads up - talked to Manager @ OKC finally, I'm screwed for PUBNAT4. they're idiots and won't listen to what i'm saying but w/e.

but something she DID tell me is that HI and AK aps are going through at the same time as pubnat5 - which should be a couple of months from now.

The runaround begins....

I never took the ATSAT earlier this month when I was assigned it. I called Robinson Aviation during the scheduling period and notified them that I would be out of town, and also asked if I could take it elsewhere. There were no times or locations that would have worked and I was listed in the computer as Declined. So I never took it so I shouldn't have to wait a year.

Also, they just informed me that somehow my last name was spelt correctly and that an 's' had been added to the end. I don't know how that worked.

So I called the FAA a couple minutes ago and they said there's nothing they can do and to call Robinson Aviation. I called them, talked with a lovely woman who then referred me to Kenneth Mann, the head dude. I spoke with him for quite a while and he was able to look me up in the database from the last testing period when I declined, but of course was not able to add me to the next test list. So I'm supposed to talk to the FAA again. Trying to get through to them is like trying to find a Christmas tree salesman on Christmas morning. It's just impossible. Anywho, I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm so sorry, I hate it when bad things happen to good people.

Are you close to the age limit?
Look at it as I do, it may take us longer or we may have to jump more hurdles to get there, but it will only make it sweeter when we do get there. ;)

i'm only 24 and i'm in school again finally so it's not a HUGE loss.. and i'm planning on transferring to a CTI school after my associates degree is finished.. it'll just be nice if I can squeeze into OKC before I have to pay for the training myself through a certified school!

I second that opinion....but I would rather get there sooner than later...:panic::panic:
