PUBNAT3

just thought pubnat3 should know...

i have a friend who applied to pubnat2 who is turning 31 in december. he didnt receive an email and when he called up to see if there was another way in since this was his only shot the woman told him (stupidly since he will over the age by this time) to wait for the next panels that will be meeting mid january, and WILL DEFINATELY include both pubnat 3 & 4. good news for you, bad news for him since now he cant be a controller. good luck.

anyone here gonna try for ZNY?

Im gonna put down NY terminal and center. So ZNY would be cool with me.

just a little info for you then...

Putting down NY and choosing Both En Route and Terminal is a very good choice because you do have a good shot at getting ZNY. now i dont know what counties your choosing, but if your looking to stay near long island and queens area (which would give you ZNY, LGA, JFK, N90, ISP, and FRG) you really only have a shot at ZNY. i just talked to my friend who is a trainee at LGA and his boss had a meeting a few months ago and told them that they are officially done hiring anyone without experience. he was part of the last group. he said that JFK is doing the same thing. he also said that ISP is COMPLETLY full of people and they wont be hiring for a while. there is one guy on the forum who got FRG, but i cant see them needing many people seeing that they are only a level 7, and probably pretty full. so just be ready to only get offered ZNY..unless your gonna put some counties upstate NY. i dont know about that area.

Heh. Nothing personal, but I've heard plenty of "definitely"s come and go from people saying they talked to the career line.

We'll see what happens.

haha..i agree..but i dont EVER talk to the career line. i called once about 3 days after my authorization to take the AT-SAT test (back in Feb.) and i realized then they dont know anything. this was from Caroline Chambers, AND my HR rep Ellaine

Do you know if they're going to remove redundant applications? Or will those of us who applied to 3 and 4 be considered twice in the same panel?

I hope so, because putting in 4 geographic preferences would be amazing.

haha...i have no idea, but i doubt it. that would be awesome for you though if it did happen

The same HR rep. Elaine who told you "definitely" used the word "might" in her e-mail to me about it.

Did we ever find out for sure when these geo pref emails are coming? Sometime in Nov??

Does it even matter?

Call me a cynic, but it will be entirely anticlimactic to receive them now that we know we've got to wait until 2009. Send them in December, send them in January, send them in February, like it will even matter.

I doubt it. Since when has the FAA been on our side?

I'll inquire about it, though.

I asked: "If announcements are combined in January for panels, say for PUBNAT3+4 together, then will those who applied to both be considered twice? Will they receive four geographic preference options (two for each PUBNAT)? Or will all redundant applications be removed?"

HR said: "You are only considered once per panel".

If that's true, it just seems unethical. You can't just throw out applications without looking at them...I thought companies can't do that. Giving people fair and equal consideration, and all that. Each announcement is considered separately, they say it all the time. It's not right of them to go back on that.

*sigh*

One person, one consideration -- I guess.

Rumor has it that PUBNAT3 had only 800-ish applicants, while 1 and 2 each had over 2000. I haven't really heard any approximations on 4 though...

If PubNat3 had only 800 or so, how many are in PubNat4? Secondly, how many are duplicated from 3?:banghead:

What I would like to know is how many will be left for Punat3+4 after all the Pubnat 2ers are hired. I know I applied for Pubnat 3 and I am going to a PEPC for pubnat2. If all goes well I won't be available for Pubnat3.

No offence, but I hope so too. If the 800 or so, PubNat3 applicants applied for #4 as well, the odds may not be as bad as speculated. Hopefully number 4 wont be needed!

Gahhhh. I keep beginning a post on the idea of the FAA not only combining our group with PUBNAT4, but tossing out our applications for that announcement -- but I've got nothing positive to say about it.

So, um, nice weather today.

I hate these insipid plane-ranking shows on the military channel. They put a Sopwith Camel, ME 262, and a God damn Sea Harrier FA2 in the top 10...WHAT?

It was so incredibly biased, too; Grumman was barely mentioned, and there isn't one Sukhoi.

What is this happy horse shet?
