pretty sure he means people who can't tan...although, I think we all know "gotti's" be they male or female. Any guesses as to how much longer before our TOL's? I thought I saw someone mention two-ish weeks...any other info? I'm both terrified and excited every time I see that I have an e-mail. When I finally get the TOL e-mail, I'll probably wet my pants as a result of the rush of relief...assuming I get one, of course.

TOL's don't get e-mailed. The next step is an E-mail inviting you to the PEPC. Once you complete your PEPC, you will receive a TOL. At least that's my interpretation of how the process works.
Word on the street is that we should receive or some of us should receive the PEPC invite in another couple weeks or so.

Well the reason most of us can't tan is becuase we have a permanent one so............:nana2:
I happen to tan extremely well, thank you very much!

Right, sorry, incorrect usage of terminology. Doesn't the e-mail inviting you to PEPC tell you which facility you have been selected for? Seems kind of similar to a TOL to me...maybe a TTOL ;)

Yeah, I believe it does tell you which facility you've been selected for. TTOL sounds like a good acronym to me. I'm sure hoping to get one soon.....this is taking way too long!

From now on, that is what I shall call it, lol. PEPC invite/TTOL. This is definitely the slowest process I have ever been a part of...aside from graduating college. But I don't really think that counts. Who knows, by the time we actually get through OKC and to a facility and get to be CPC's, it could be longer than getting a degree. Good things come to those who wait, right?

I, too, would like a TTOL to come already. Then we can all start "knowing for sure" exactly what the PEPC guys are looking for when they interview you ;)

It would be a trip to meet a lot of you in person, that's for sure. Perhaps a fist fight, probably beer instead.

And for the record, I stay permanently and beautifully bronze. If you neglect my general physique, the tan is actually quite nice.

My family hates me cause it takes me thirty minutes in the sun to get a great tan. And as far as a fist fight goes.... bring it on! But I'd rather have a beer. And I love hearing from people who have connections that tell them they already got selected........

yea meeting some of you should be funny. but im all for fighting seeing as im to young to drink still. so unless someones willing to sneak me a beer ill have to put my old skills in learned in high school to good use

If you have a tentative job with the federal government, I'd say that excuses you from the drinking age restriction. Of course I have absolutely no power to say that, but I do anyway.

I have no connections at all, but I sure would like to know if I got picked. I thought about calling aviation careers to see if they knew/would tell me if I asked really nicely.

I just imagine myself in their shoes and think how annoyed I would be with a bunch of people calling and asking if they got picked, and then decide I shouldn't. Imagine how bad it would be having a hundred people call a day and ask if they got selected. You'd hate it.

Which is exactly why I've never called them at all, lol.

Every time I see all the people on here saying that they heard such and such from aviation careers, or someone in OKC, I do appreciate them getting that info, but I can't help but think that someone in OKC really hates this message board :)

It is my understanding from everything I have read on this site, that the Tentative Offer Letter (TOL) is the next step and it comes with the Pre-Employment Processing Center (PEPC) invite, at this point you will know which facility has picked you up. After attending PEPC, once your security clearance and medical have gone through, and they have a school date for you, you get your Final Offer Letter (FOL). FOL time and school date will depend on the needs of the facility that picks you up.

I'd cite my sources but I really dont feel like it.

Whatever it's called, I just want an email that reads something like this:

Dear Scott,

Provided you aren't crazy/on drugs/a terrorist, you've been tentatively selected to be an air traffic controller at the Denver ARTCC in Longmont, CO. Please come to Los Angeles for a series of interviews to check on the aforementioned crazy, etc.

Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you.

Love,

The FAA

P.S. We really can't stress that crazy part strongly enough...

With the PEPC invite you only get something that lists the facility you are interviewing for, it's not an actual or tentative offer at that point. When you go to the PEPC and pass the interview and make it through the rest of the day you often times actually sign your TOL right there that you intend to take the job.
