Pubnat 5/6

I'm glad all went well for the 6/22!

I'm here in Chicago now at my friends home. Can't wait til the morning!

By the way, how many questions were you guys asked?

Best of luck to all the 6/23 people!

During the interview? Maybe 5 questions. We mostly just chated for about 20 minutes. Really the only thing he asked from the standard list was about a failure I'd been involved in, and if I had been in a position to correct it what would I do. It really is as softball as everyone says.

Then he made up his own 'hypothetical' question about a traffic light that wouldn't change allowing you to legally go.

20 minutes??!?!?!? You guys get off light at the PEPC. I answered my questions and BS'd with my interviewer at ZNY for an hour and a half. By the time we were done, the controllers were in the middle of a shift change, so I didn't even get a good tour of the control floor. My interviewer was in charge of personel but was never a controller himself, he showed me around and did the best he could, but really couldn't answer any questions about what was going on.

I had a 9am yesterday (6/22) though I got there 5 minutes late because it took me 30 minutes to walk from the Rosemont CTA station but they didn't give me a hard time. I was out by 1:30 and I was also told to expect to hear something in about 8 weeks.

My interview was maybe 30 minutes - she asked quite a few questions from the list, but sometimes I would catch her attention wandering. I also had some trouble at first with the eye test, but the lady would have me read the line above, then try the bottom line again, and I was able to get 20/20 on both eyes. It took me almost an hour an a half to do the MMPI.

I got in trouble for trying to walk back to the orientation/break room unescorted from the bathroom, but overall everyone was really great!

Traditional Routers... Is anyone else having trouble opening the DOT 1631 Form? I haven't been able to load it for the past few days.

Here is somthing that sucks....when I finished the PEPC folks, as nice as they were, sent me past security with all of my original paperwork....aka the stuff they need to finish my processing. I was looking through my stuff as I was waiting for the cab and thought to myself....wait a second, I'm not supposed to have this stuff. So I told the security staff and they basically put out an APB to all the PEPC people and the place swarmed like bee's, it was funny. I just told them..."I was handed this paperwork and was told congrats and have a nice day". It all worked out in the end. The part that really sucks......there WAS a guy that left the place with the exact same paperwork that I realized I was not supposed to have. He will have to REDO his stuff.....REDO....yes REDO. I feel so bad for that guy. Just a point for those of you still going to the PEPC this week, make sure you help the left hand of the FAA communicate with the right hand if you catch my drift. There were three things that were overlooked on my paperwork, and if I wouldn't have cought it, I would have bought it....more waiting time that is. Just my buck o' five. Also, I don't want this to sound like a PEPC slam fest....I am greatful the FAA has the PEPC available for us. Just have to help each other during this busy process. Can't wait to reunite with my ZHU peeps.

Has anyone who's gone traditional route done their fingerprint cards at a local law enforcement office instead of the regional FAA office?

If so how did it go?

Hey J, I didn't go traditional, but I did hve to get my fingerprints done at Dallas PD for my nursing lisence. Honestly, theres nothing to it. Go in, pay your 5-10 bucks, roll your fingers and your done.

Thats kind of what I figured. I'm going Trad Route and got the TOL today, drug test tomorrow. Other than Fingerprints, Medical Exam and MMPI I'm done. If I had to do it again, I don't think I'd go PEPC route. Saved myself a ton of money too.

Yep, I have my drug test tomorrow as well in San Antonio. While I'm there, I think I'll stop by and see the new Transformers movie :)

judging by your sig, it's been a month, i would get on the phone with my HR rep if i were you. Of course it is possible the personel manager at you facility is at the PEPC right now, mine talked about PEPCs he had been to previously.
