PUBHI

ok cool so i'm not the only one...:banghead:

===edit===
I got through to the up/down HR rep today and she's weird.. has some weird attitude about her that makes you feel really bad for calling and wasting her time.

apparently they're both in today though.. and should be answering the phones.

hey Tnak have you received your PEP packet in the mail yet? I'm wondering if I should be finding other forms to fill out ahead of time like the SF-86 or whatever but I figure if everything comes as it should they won't accept it until the PEPC any way.. so.. i guess the last 30 seconds of my typing and your reading this is for no reason really other than to speculate about senseless bs because we're all waiting at baited breath for additional instruction from the mothership.

Raydon I have not received any snail mail or e-mail. I sent in my two forms, but cannot get in contact with HR to confirm receipt. I called twice today, just getting voice messages. I also want to find out my start time on the date of my PEPC.

I started going through the SF-86 last nite, I figured I should get a head start on it as I am not the fastest form-filler

oh ya know.. something just dawned on me.. they have a mountain of paperwork to process for the 02/23 NY PEPC.. so they're probably just (as politely yet passively as possible) putting everyone else to the side to give main priority to the february people.

maybe we should just be patient until the end of the month I'm sure we'll be just fine!!!

doi...

Congratulations! You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the (HCF) Honolulu Control Facility in Honolulu , Hawaii.

Finally!

Hey guys, I have no experience in FAA air traffic except for studying like crazy before the AT-SAT using the ATC Career Prep AT-SAT book by Mattson which REAALLY helped. Does anyone know how good of a chance I have of getting called for an interview or if I should of yet.. Here is my status:

8/3/08- applied for AAC-AMH-08-PUBHI-10381
9/30/08 - You have been authorized to take the AT-SAT test for announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBHI-10381
11/6/08 - Took AT-SAT
11/17/2008 08:29:26 AM (Central Time): An AT-SAT score of 70 or above is necessary for passing. Your score was 87.6
Referral list FA-AAC-09-17895: Issued on 12/30/2008 for the Throughout Hawaii duty location at the FG-1 grade/payband.
  • Your application is among those being reviewed by the office with announcement # AAC-AMH-08-PUBHI-10381. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status updates.
Thats where i stand now.

my only advise to you is to put all that info in your signature so you don't have to type it over and over and over again while you're in these forums, get an avatar picked out and JOIN THE CROWD!!!!

If it says you may or may not be contacted... i hate to say it.. but..

you may or may not be contacted for an interview. !!zomg!!

you scored WQ so your chances are definitely higher. Several individuals are still getting their notifications.. a couple this week, a couple last week.. and i'm sure more to come in the future.

if you could see half of the posts from anyone who's going through the process with you (like me... for example).. all we really do is vent and joke and gag and chit chat while we wait for the next step.

there is a lot of useful information to help you pass the time as well.

welcome to JC.

thanks for the welcome and tips! hopefully i will hear something... after reading all the posts about people getting called/ emails about interviews, an what facility they may be at I was getting worried.

If I don't get it oh well, I just will be happy that I got to see HI and had a reason to travel there. It would be nice to get hired since the money came out of my pocket for that trip and I studied like mad lol.. I dont know how many others off the street without any experience did on the AT-SAT but I think I did pretty good for not having any formal training.

so whats the plan for places to live guys? ive been browsing craigs list and looks like roommates is the only way to go on our starting pay.

yeah it's def. not going to be "the high life" by any means.. yet. I'd be down to room up once we get out there while we truck through the D stages.

I say we get a cheap house as close to the airport as possible. wait until like D2/3/cpc to start worrying about getting the bachelor pads set up.

we could go crazy and have like a "chart/study" room to use in aiding our progress. It'd be hard to have a dedicated space like that in a house full of non-ATCers.

Hey,
I called the FAA HR office on Friday and they informed me that I wasn't selected yet. But she did say that they are still sending out emails and I may not hear anything until March b/c the date I took my AT-SAT on (11/6) has not been decided on yet. So thought I would send that out to anyone who tested on 11/6 and didn't receive anything about an interview yet, that there still is a chance they will call you/email you. So now I will be waiting until March and biting my nails hoping I get called soon.

Hi everyone, for those looking at places to stay in Hawaii, consider looking at places in the salt lake area, or nuuanu. they are close proximity to the airport, and they are relatively cheap.

Well I work at a flight school here in hawaii, and I know that those areas are often times rented for a cheap price (400-600), per month. Since the tower is actually located on Hickam AFB, those two places are convenient. Moanaloa, has apartments, but they are a little more expensive (600-1200) a month, but it is also very close to the airport, in fact a little closer, I would say to the base. It depends on what you are looking for. Once on base the drive to the tower, since you have to drive around the airport takes about another 15-20 minutes.

exactly what he said. Studios start at about $850 in the Salt Lake area, and up to $1300~ if you want a 2 bed. If you're ambitious then you can bike to the airport, although I don't know too much about getting into Hickam. My building is renting out 3 beds for about $1600.... If you want houses you have to get into the Moanalua area.

To add to that, access to Hickam AFB is bike friendly, and a good ride, however, location of the tower, and where you'll be working, I wouldn't really suggest it.
