PSA CRJ-700 AA midair collision

Every RA I’ve had when holding has been a GArpie just flying along fat dumb and happy at the +500 VFR altitude. Eg, I’m at 7000 so he’s at 6,500. What is his altimeter setting? When did he set it last time? Has it been updated for where he is at this moment? And is he actually holding 6,500 on the nose? (Narrator: He was not).


Of all the pilots out there, I trust GArpies the least. The least amount of rules, standards, and people who don’t fly for a living and who knows who often they fly to be competent today.

Just playing devil's advocate, where was ATC? Aren't airplanes within Bravo followed by ATC?

I didn’t know O’Brien had been here. His protege is friends with a number of us here though.

Which is why JC needs to take a hard look at itself and realize that if it doesn’t want to be just like APC, then some changes to how things used to be long ago, are in order.
 
A lot of it is font size and where we are as a culture today.

If I say “Hey, I’m a subject matter expert on the A350, I work for Flight Standards, a line check airman and do some other things with the company” - there are people on the internet, even here, that would absolutely put me on roast. Same font, same font-size, their retort look exactly like my statement and sometimes having to constantly prove you know what you’re talking about is tiring.

Check almost any thread about pilot hiring in the last year or so here, on APC or PPW (if that’s still around).

I enjoy it too much, which makes me very introspective. It’s like a cocktail with lime in it. My brain goes “ooh, lime! I guess I’m getting drunk tonight!” So I don’t drink many drinks with lime. :/

I mean, if we’re through the lens of Unreal Tournament, yeah.

But. Also…yeah. There’s some pain out here, man.

EDIT: I completely understand your reluctance to create an echo chamber. I would feel the same way if it was my sandbox. But I also feel like there are lines that can be drawn. They are your lines to draw.

I liked snapping my finger like “Q” too much when it came to threeholer. I mean I really enjoyed it.

Reminded me of being 8 years old and telling my brother I was going to throw a can of Pepsi at him. He said “DO IT, DOUGLAS”…

So I did. It was wonderful and I had real life street cred until my dad got home and, well, he wasn’t so happy.

Then I guess it depends on how you frame your accountability around your decisions on your ephemeral living room.

Dad isn’t going to admonish you for decisions you make here. Maybe a Dad voice in your internal family system?
