Proudly All...... well, something

I was pretty deeply entrenched long before my ATP had any B-Anything on it. I'm a 3rd generation Boeing guy. Dad works for Boeing. Grandpa worked for Boeing, and was an engineer on the design team of the 747. Uncle worked for Boeing. Other uncle worked for Boeing. Cousin worked for Boeing. A good number of my friends work for Boeing.

You sound like my favorite out of work hairdresser/car expert.

And your answer was?

What John Candy said in "Summer Rental"....

Regarding cockpit conversations....the best one's are where their blatant self interest is just over the top...."you say I should sell my paid for house, use the proceeds and you'll give me a great rate on Iraqi Dinars?"

I rode up front in a DAL 320 a few weeks ago to work and the noise level seemed pretty even with the 737. Jumpseat space was nice. Windows are bigger. Other than that? Meh.
I sat in the jumpseat on a DAL 737 from SNA-ATL. I literally fell down just as I entered the gate area leaving the jetbridge. There was no feeling in both my legs.
Jumpseat most comfortable pecking order is as follows:
1. B767(reclines nearly flat)
2. B777 either seat
3. AA B757 middle seat
4. A320 middle seat
5. B727
(I haven't jumpseated on a 747 yet)

Least comfortable:
1. EMB120
2. MD80
3. CRJ/B737 tied

What Boeing 767 reclines nearly flat? I didn't in Fedex, it barely slid a little bit back. And if I recall at Delta, you sat high in the seat but there wasn't much recline. And it was only 1 J/S in the Delta 767.

Most junior VX CA now 8/8/2012 DOH.

I think AS is hitting early 2014 DOHs for most junior CAs.

But if you're hired now, it's gonna be a looooooooooong time. And I do mean long. We retire 620 guys in the next 10 years out of 2,950ish. Barring more aircraft orders and deliveries, the numbers aren't good for newhires upgrading anytime soon.

DC-10 and L-1011 would top the comfy list too.

SJU - BWI on a non-ETOPS ATN 737 and no gate after we landed. Think it was just over 6 hours total. My back hurt for days after that.

On the 757 an AA crew showed me how to take the cushion off the seat behind the CA and put it up agains the wall behind the FO and stretch out across the cockpit. That was pretty comfy.

Some nb airbus jumpseats work like that too.

The whole list would move down a pair of spots with the A330 and DC-10 up top.
