Profit sharing back at AA

OK this thread has gone way off topic. Here is what I have heard on the line. The reason the company is paying employee profit sharing is to avoid running afoul of IRS rules regarding executive compensation. The company wants to pay big bonuses to key management employees and they face tax penalties if rank and file are excluded from such compensation.

Let me tell you a little thing called "9/11"...
Exactly my point about why you never know how this industry will change. 9/11 triggered a cycle that no one expected. Deregulation triggered a big cycle as well.

Chances are an airline you choose for a 30+ year career will not always be the top dog and will run into some turbulence. As you well know.
