Price Increase again

A little off topic, but for all the people who say multi time is like gold, I know just as many guys outside of this website who have gotten their jobs from having a ton of SE time, and barely any multi time.

Those include two King Air Captains, and two Lear FO's, all who were hired with roughly 20-30 ME hours. Okay, well I just gave you four people. Not quit just as many as this website haha but you get the picture.

I guess I sorta wish people would stop ostracizing SE time like it is something inferior. I'm realistic. I understand that ME time is important, but i'd never go as far, or ever listen to anyone who is trying to tell me that single engine time is a waste of time all together.

Show me entry level regional mins that include turbine time.

It's about multi. ATP already has that figured out.

I think ATP has it's sights set on a 135 charter thing with the jets. They will get the airlines to buy off on street Capts with 1700 total and 500 single engine jet PIC time. ATP will set up a program and advertise that you can buy a Capt job at a regional for 100K (PPL to regional Capt) which will include 500 hours of jet PIC time. You will work as a CFI from 90 day to 1200 total. Then, you are qualified for the single engine jet charter PIC.

For working as a jet PIC, you will be paid $1500/mo, or $1800/mo if you don't live in ATP provided housing. The payoff will be going straight to the left seat as an airline pilot, thus not wasting your time as a lowly jet F/O.

Any takers? Financing isn't a problem and you'll be years ahead of people who do the traditional "climbing the ladder" thing....
:yeahthat::yeahthat::yeahthat: Absolutely agree 100%. They are gearing up, maybe at the expense of the ACPP (or whatever it is), maybe not; but they are gearing up for the VLJ need to come. They are betting on there being a need for experience in the VLJ scenario and will market the heck out of it.

They have gotten to where they are now by being smart businesspeople, and from the looks of it, will be on top on this one also. You'll have to mortgage your training (hopefully not a ARM) to afford the training at some point in time, but hey, you'll be able to go from SE Jet instructor to Single Pilot, 35K/year taxi cab drivers.

The writing is on the walls...

And, yes Bob, Caravan time can be worth something, as you said!!!:D

Hey Rickurukus. Why were you a one post wonder at APC? See something there you didn't like?

"k well its not the 80's anymore bro"

Yeah, bro, and I ain't a CFI running a flying club anymore, either.

You got a point in there somewhere?

The DJET deal for ATP is huge because ATP will be the only place in the nation to get a DJET type rating, meaning anyone flying a DJET will have their training done at ATP. That's a lot of business with how the vlj thing is supposed to explode. The whole DJET and how it will work in the ACPP is a different thing. PM me if you want more details.

Marcus,

If you can, please post the information here about the DJet/ACPP thing. If you're not allowed to post it yet, then I would submit that offering to release it to someone in a PM is tantamount to the same thing - see where I'm going?

I'd really like to know about this - with the price increases, ATP no longer has the value proposition for me that it used to (that, and a couple other things, to be fair) but if there is some added value there, I'd be interested in knowing what it was. I'm sure others would, too.

lol no apc was gay cause no one posted ever

and yes my point is its not the 80s anymore

APC is fine. It's just the folks over there aren't so pro-ATP as they are here at the ATP forum at JC. APC is more of a place where those who have been there, done that, and got the t-shirt hang out. I think that explains the different outlook.

The funny part is that there has been NOTHING official yet, and people are already deciding not to go to the programs because it "may go up $5k"

"Has weekends off!"

I visited the Phoenix location yesterday. I asked them about the price increase and they said they hadn't heard anything. I'm really hoping that its not ture though.

If your hoping its not true, sign up for it now, that way you get the old price..

I called the JAX location, and they confirmed that the price is gonna increase, they didnt know when it was gonna take place though.

I'm wondering if I reserved a class date for say January and but put a deposit down now would that mean I can lock in the old price now even if it increases in this next month?

In the past, if you received a start date and put money down you were good for the price at that time.

Well If they do increase the price before I can go i think I will have to look elsewhere for my training. I've saved about $1000 per month for the last 8 months to go towards flight training. But considering they just raised it by 5K and if they raise it another 5k my efforts would have been meaningless. :banghead:

The usually very well informed pro-ATP mafia here is not screaming "It ain't so", which is a way of confirming that the increase is coming.

..Or they have chosen not keep beating this drum over and over again. Is there a point in going around in a cirlce like a dog chasing its tail based on nothing but hearsay? :panic:

Just my two cents....
