This is something that a lot of people don't realize. Something like 150+ guys were brought on at colgan after the merger was announced. Our relative seniority has gone up quite a bit with that hiring and even with a 100% relative seniority merger we won't get to take advantage of those that have been hired since July 1. I don't mean that as a complaint, just to make it clear to those complaining about all our growth and how it's unfair to use it as "leverage" in a relative merger. A relative merger will still yield colgan roughly a 6-1 integration
Keep in mind that there might be a certain point at which people hired recently may go to the end of the senioritiy list, like what Bloch did with the Delta SLI.
Well, true, back in 2005/2006, I was anti-Gulfstream thanks to the propoganda machine led by Doug and his fellow followers, Zombies. Many people on this forum blindly thought the word being spread here was the gospel, and that he was just, and right. Years later, after having flown with Gulfstream people, and having gone through a RJ transition course, I don't think Gulfstream is a "bad" program. Now you wanna scream "hold the unity! save this industry!" then go take your picket boards to ALPA's Herndon headquarters. That's where your chanting belongs, not at Gulfstream. Gulfstream is just another way to enter the pilot industry. People argue that it drives down this profession because they can 'hire' a program graduate instead of hiring someone qualified on the streets (a street-hire). Guess what? Gulfstream (until recently) is a private enterprise. Now they are public. But regardless, it's a business, and that business can do what it takes to thrive and make money. Obviously, there is a market for those pilots who don't want the CFI route, the banner towing, traffic watch, etc. Gulfstream works for them, got them hired at Pinnacle (or other places) and then advanced on. One of our current Asst Chief pilots graduated college, attended Gulfstream, hired at Pinnacle, upgraded, became checkairmen, and then got hired at United at the age of 27 right at the end of 2007. He was furloughed, and came back to Pinnacle. Gut guess what? Going to Gulfstream didn't hurt him one bit, and if anything, shaved several years off in his goal to get to where he wanted, the majors. My views on Gulfstream have changed. I say if you want to do it, and have the money for it, then go do it. I have no problem with Gulfstream. One of the 70 JetUers at 9E that likes to bitch about Gulfstream.
I've got to wonder... is this guy a troll and he's just having some fun at everybody expense? There is no way that he could have survived in the industry as long as he has and not had some captain (or other FO) push him down a set of stairs somewhere. Or does 9E really have that many toolbags that he just blends in with the rest? Everybody I personally know over there are top notch people so unless that's an anomaly, I just don't get it.

I don't know. We have C.O. In TYS and he still has all limbs attached and unbroken.
i have an idea on who he is. Not 100% tho. But if i am correct in my assumption than the guy on the message board is totally different guy in the flightdeck. Or so i have heard.
