Kinda late to chime in, I hadn't seen this thread before. But having studied with plenty of Asian students, and hearing half the audio - I couldn't bear to listen it fully.
I really think this was another case of "do what Sensei says". She called Hello several times - and when there was some positive contact with ATC she was repeating what she was taught, as a normal check in, and reading back everything the controller said. You could hear her anguish in her voice, but unfortunately the results were tragic.
I don't think this is a case of english not being the native language, I think this is a case of culture roots. Most asians are taugh that the instructor or the captain is Sensei and do whatever they say, regardless if its right or wrong. I guess she followed her instructor's - or boss' - instructions to the point it got out of her thought process and it went downhill from there.
