SGU is unique to say the least, very Mormon. Few bars, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bout Time Pub and Grub and the Bowling Alley Bar "Fireside" are the more frequented places to drink. However it is an outdoor mecca. Zion NP is a half hour away and words cant describe it. Southern Utah in general is very big on Rock climbing, hiking, camping, mtn biking and canyoneering. The Desert Rat in SGU on the corner of Bluff and SGU Blvd will point you in the right direction and has any gear or guide books needed. QOL is what you make it there, if you get outside its hard to be disappointed, find a buddy and get out would be my advise. Traveling sucks out of SGU but can be done. It's a little easier out of CDC if you are going through SLC. Otherwise LAS is the best launch point. South City bus Terminal in LAS you can park for free and take a $2 shuttle to the airport, the lot has a security guard so its a safe place to park and avoid crazy parking fees.
