Hello, my name is Mike and have gotten accepted into Ameriflight training. Towards the end of October, once I have finished training, I should be based in Portland. Anyone know of a room for rent or crashpad or areas that I should avoid?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Do you want to buy my house?

17 minutes from opening my garage door until walking through the hanger door at PDX!
In all seriousness, are you planning on trying to commute while junior on the Ameriflight schedule? (I only ask because you mention crashpad.) Being junior in PDX will mean you will could likely end up on 1925, a 6 day per week run, commuting would be pretty much impossible!
As far as places to live, like SurferLucas mentioned, there are some pretty nice apartments in Vancouver, where you will get more for your money, and have no taxes. However, if you are young, single, and want some form of social life, you will probably find yourself driving into Portland anyways, so why not live there!
As for places to look in Vancouver, the Cascades Neighborhood, rougly 10th and Ellsworth. Also look in the Fishers Landing area, between 162nd and 192nd Ave, there are some pretty decent place with a fair amount of space for sub 700 a month.
