I recall this being at Oshkosh a year or two ago. Definitely an interesting idea. Funny how they went with a jet rather than a T-prop conversion.

I do believe it's a male's instinct to change a successful design and make it bigger or faster.
 
IMS, Ted Smith designed it with the intention of eventually giving it jets. Why mess with success?
Yes, he did. It's a pretty awesome airplane in piston form. It'll outrun a C90, but what Autothrust said is true, mx is just silly.
Coincidentally, you can pick one up for not much money at all considering the performance.
Oh, fun fact, iirc the airframe was stressed to +6/-3 in testing with no problems. Acro twin!
 
Did a flight review for a guy not too long ago who owned an Aerostar. He sold it after multiple consecutive annuals were costing him well over $20,000 each.
 
When I can check the Aerostar and the Lear 24 off my list, I will finally grace the Airlines with my munificent presence. Who wants to help?
