Pinnacle Hiring...

It wasn't even close to 1%. Fractions of a percent, actually. Management pilots don't get to vote, though. If I remember right, there was a grand total of 3 pilots who voted NO.

Can PCL pilots vote authorizing a strike now so that as soon as the NMB released them it can commence immediately (after the cooling off period?)

A strike isn't likely to happen, considering the precedent the NMB set by not allowing the 'cooling off period' to begin. That is, if I'm following the story properly.

No, you're correct. The NMB has "parked" the PCL pilots. "Parked" is a legal term from the NMB that basically puts the negotiations on hold for a set period of time. Basically, nothing is going to happen until second quarter of next year. That will put it at 4 years since the amendable date.

Needless to say, vote pro-labor!

The reason why (IMHO) is that Bush doesn't want the headlines for stopping another airline union action using a president's emergency board, or whatever it is called, so close to the election. Sooooo the NMB just "parks" you until the election is already decided one way or another!
