Pinnacle Corp., buys Mesaba

Well the FAQ section from our company website just updated and now it says that the jets from Mesaba to Pinnacle are a transfer of "assets" not a merger. Looks like us at XJ are gonna get it, minus the lube. Gets better by the day.

Luckily we are so junior we'll just take whatever's left!

Senior Mesaba guys choices are: Go with the jets and the pay and give up half their senority, or stay for whatever planes may come to Mesaba (by way of Colgan) and take a $4 paycut on the Q if they can hold it.

Hilarious.

I hear ya. Good times, good times.

I wonder if I could claim PTSD from living in EWR in an earlier life and get disability until a Mesaba reopens a MEM base?

You know what would be disgusting? Is if after all this Delta starts up all the old EAS routes out of MEM as Colgan. Wait... that's just silly!

LOL, that's silly man. Hey man, it's all coming full circle for you huh? Like some sick joke. If I'm ever on out of base reserve in MEM, which I'm sure is gonna happen, we need to just go get some beer and get wasted. First case of beer is on me.

Hehe, give me a PM when you touch down.

It's definitely a full circle. It's comforting having the contract though. With any luck we can drag this out for years. If we can't, we can't, but hopefully it'll be a jagged pill for Pinnacle management to swallow. With any luck, I'll live to see the investors throw uncle Phil and George Casey out the door. If I'm really lucky it'll happen while I'm still an employee.

I escaped once, I can escape again.

Will this industry ever have any stability?

Before everyone goes negative nancy and cloak and daggers (depending on epaulet color) keep in mind that the meetings to even begin true discussion on seniority and portability has not happened yet. I have received some very distressing phone calls from pilots who are getting swallowed with worry over only SPECULATION of WHAT COULD HAPPEN. Calm down. Please. As much as folks are screaming DOH and wispering LOA nothing has happened yet. Talk to your reps and you will find that the pool of facts is shallow and will fill over the coming weeks, when the facts are all in come take a dip and have your emotional reaction.

The only quote I remember being told by a Delta-North guy.... "When it's done right everyone is nervous before, and everyone is a little ticked afterwards".

The latest action to bring furloughs back should show that the idea of just burning careers into the ground is not the agenda.

Again, Higney for the WIN!

Please....everyone needs to take a chill-pill. Our MEC's are working together....not working against each other.

So now........take a DEEP BREATH......and RELAX.

Easy my man, I don't think it's meant to be flamebait. This young lady is just being exacting and it was something brought up a few times in the SOC. You must understand the dumping of flights onto us (and visa-versa of course) was strange. A lot of us were saying we were now on Mesaba's supplemental 121 under contract of Pinnacle. We did a lot of EVV and AEX that weren't ours.

I doubt Dangler has a mean bone in her body, trust me, she isn't trying to get a rise out of you.

Cool. I guess I just read a different tone into it, and if you know her, that's good enough for me.

Before the merger, I caught plenty of flak from XJ guys for picking up our flights. Sorry, that's not MY fault, and that's what reserves are for. The last thing on my mind when I had to rush to A21 to pre-flight the rare CRJ-200 spare we had there because XJ canceled a flight was posting a rant on the internet when I got home.

And I agree, either one picking up flights for the other struck me as insanely odd unless Delta was paying a rather large sum of bonus money, which I was finding highly unlikely. Well, now we know.

Hehe. Well when I'm throwing gear for you I expect you to do the preflighting every leg! I'm staying inside where it's cool!

Eh... You don't want to fly with Kellwolf... :D

Truthfully... of all the trips I have flown at 9E, I enjoyed flying with him more than anyone else.

Screw you guys, I'm going home!
