Pinacolaba SLI

No, I don't read it that no one can move around, hence why I used the quotes. It's more like a psuedo fence where as long as the set number of positions required by the SLI are met (or less than the number and not bid on by that respective pilot gropu) then any additional openings are fair game.

Bingo. Min CRJ-900 CA positions at 9E is 95 and XJ is 279. We currently have 97 -900 CAs, so we're two over the min. As long as we stay above 95 -900 CA positions, the way I read it, as long as XJ is above 279 -900 CA positions anyone that can hold -900 CA can bid it.

Original 07/07. I dunno what they "changed it to." Maybe 04/07?

3/06 was my "class date." The ID says "5/12/2006," but that's never been used for bidding, despite what the XJ merger committee thought. Our bidding has always been off our class date. Kinda hard to bid a vacancy while you're IN CLASS if you don't have a "hire date" until after you finish class, right?

There is a gap of about 786 numbers behind you to the next Colgan guy. That is the point i was getting at. Nearly 25% gap.

He likely is the last saab CA. After saab CA category is jet FO and 786 jet FOs sounds correct.

ie.....He hit SLI lottery by JUST sneaking in that category. Whats that saying.."seniority is everything"....1 day older in a new hire class could mean nearly 800 numbers down the road.

So I'm in ground school at Colgan now. Will Rocketman or will he not be sitting to the right of me? That's the only thing that's important for me to know.

Or getting your hours in.

You cant tell from the list, but we have Captains on page 18 out of 22.

Nah I am currently in upgrade one the Q. I am with three others. One of my original new hire classmates, and two others who where hired a few months before me. The other two are 800-900 slots ahead of me, technically still FO's as am I. A Q captain, in my new hire class, is now listed in the same group that I am now. I am going to give it a few days for my merger committee to get a good grasp on it before I start making any phone calls to them.

Although, my sim partner over here at 9E is a -900 CA, and he's about right where he was ahead of me pre-merger.

Since this will come up A LOT....it doesnt matter what position you hold. Just because you are currently a Q400 CA or a CRJ900 CA does not mean you will be in that category. Mesaba has some very senior folks in the Saab...there is no way they would be junior to a jet CA at their own company who is junior to them. You can NOT jump anyone on your own list.

So...say there are 10 pilots. In seniority order the first 2 are Saab FOs the next 4 are Saab CAs and the last 4 are Q CAs here is how it would shake out. Say the Q400 CA block was 4 people: the 2 Saab FOs and 2 of the Saab CAs would be integrated via the Q400 CA block as if they were Q400 CAs.

I am a Q400 CA but I was not integrated as such because there are apparently X amount of Saab CAs (or saab or Q FOs) senior to me on our Colgan list who could hold Q400 over me which "bumps" me down to the Saab CA category. The only thing your seat guarantees you is a CA category or an FO category.

Make sense?
