Pilots at Republic Airways

What is the employment environment like at Republic Airways for new pilots? I read a lot of the horror stories about Mesa, and I am wondering how these would compare to working conditions at Republic. What is the attrition rate and the average seat transition time (right seat to left seat)?

I haven't heard of any horror stories here. Mesa and RAH don't belong in the same sentence. Its a good company to work for.

Attrition rate is currently zero. Transition time, who knows because attrition rate is currently zero.

Mesa Air Group and Republic Airways Holdings both current fly contracts for Delta.

Tell me how they don't belong together in that sentence. Honestly, ya need to stop putting down other regionals. Some day your regional might be the one on the bottom.....

Not that I havent put others down.... but Mesa still has pilots... and therefore no one should wish for their group to fall apart.... they are all pilot and therefore I'd hate to see them fall.....

Mesa Air GROUP being the operative word... Mesa Airlines doesn't fly for DAL anymore, as of May 2... :)

/semantics are awesome :D

At no point did Dave every "wish for their group to fall apart". Everyone knows how Mesa treats its employees. There is a reason they lost almost 800 pilots to attrition last year. Going back to the original question, Republic has its problems like most regionals, but for the most part they treat their employees pretty well. Having worked for another 121 carrier I've seen both sides and its day and night being here compared to where I was. I moved up 55 spots on the seniority list last month, curious to see what it is now ha! Expect attrition at all regionals to come to a halt.

Interesting... I swear the 900's are still going to fly for DAL.... but what would I know! Delta terminating all ERJ flying in MCO and JFK according to APC... Therefore the 14 900's according to the site are still on the DAL side... but again what would I know!

Mesa and RAH dont belong in the same sentence..... I know Kell was reading it the same way... OH GOD forbid mesa... we all have our thoughts.... but yet no one should wish illwill on anyones job..... They do have some things in common.... DAL/UAL/Airways..... just for a few... 86 seat aircraft.... ERJ 135/145s...... shall i continue... yeah work rules and reputation might be different but a lot of thinks that are very similiar.

You're really edgy lately. Those 900s are operated by Freedom. What would you know indeed.

And the user was asking about MAG (not their certificates)... and RAH (not their certificates)... he didnt ask about Republic... he was asking about republic (CHQ/Shuttle republic) and Mesa (which would include Freedom,Mesa, Air Midwest, and go)..... Always reliable there ford.... great job buddy!

I was going to say...

I don't know Meyers and can't even pretend to be interested in all this stuff, but from an outsiders pint of view Meyers, it appears I've seen a lot more of you lately and usually your posts come off in a crazy, ranting, nearly out-of-control frenzy.

Just an observation, not an attack. In another thread you mention something about "all the bickering we do here"... you do realize you are quite the bicker-er yourself, right?

As of now, the reduction is only affecting the ERJ flying.

The CRJ stuff in JFK is safe for now, but of course is at risk like everyone else.

The ERJs will continue to fly until post-lawsuit under a reduced schedule.

Check your PM..... that'd be more professional in the 1st place... 2ndly nothing is is ranting... MAG/RAH was the topic... i responded... As did the above post..... Care to address more you know my PM... same with ford...

Similar.... as Kell said... DAL/UAL/Airways... 86 seat AC.....

Differ had been address by Airdale

To the original poster, I am relatively new at Chautauqua and haven't witnessed any horror stories. We don't have junior manning, we don't sleep in the planes on short overnights, and I am holding a line with 16 days off. Been here since November. Can't complain too much. Yes there are small issues and of course pay, but these are all things that you will find at any regional. In my humble opinion it is one of the best if not the best regional going right now, "right now" meaning that tomorrow things can change drastically anywhere in this industry and I could be out on the street looking for another job. This industry is ripe with risk and everyone should know that before getting into it. My captain told me that if you haven't been furloughed and gotten a divorce yet you are still considered new to this industry :). We just lost all of our Frontier flying because of them being in bankruptcy so hiring has come to a screeching halt and they are saying no more classes until late summer/early fall. So this combined with the majors that have stopped hiring getting to the left seat may take a little longer than it has recently. Remember that the industry is cyclical get your number and hold on... In this industry when it rains it pours.

From a "they treat their pilots crappy" standpoint....how is flying for Freedom different than flying for Mesa? It's the same list/same contract. Is it Republic or Shuttle America that flies for DAL? You don't see people drawing lines on THAT one.

Actually from what I have heard, things on the freedom side are a bit better. Since DL requires a minimum crewing level for the aircraft, they actually have the bodies they need to function. Unlike the Mesa side, where it's pretty much a free for all it seems. Esp in the UL system.

I've got a couple buddies that transferred from ORD to JFK and keep telling me how much better life is on that side of the house.
