So does this mean that the job term may only last 13 months?

Do you think this means they want 1,500 hours in a turbine multi-engine aircraft, or 1,500 total time with some turbine multi-engine experience?

Good question. I guess it could be taken both ways.

Personally I take "total flying time" to mean Your total aircraft time, not just turbine.

My brother works for BPA and often flys on their King Air's(they just got a brand new 350). He said the pilots really like their jobs.

So does this mean that the job term may only last 13 months?

That's exactly what it means. Consider it a test period:D

It they like you, you get an extension or a permanent slot, if they don't like you, "sorry, we just don't have the funds to keep you on" Welcome to the wonderful ways of the feds.;)

I have no problem with that. Why keep a pilot you don't like? As far as turbine time, I have PIC time in King Air 90/200 and MU2's so I don't think I'll have a problem there. It would be nice to have a job where money was not an issue. I'm tired of working for shoestring budget outfits.

Obviously.
