POSITION SUMMARY

To ensure our success, BPA is seeking a highly skilled pilot to join our Aircraft Services team to pilot alternately between pilot-in-command and second-in-command in a BPA turbine-powered, multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft (Hawker-Beechcraft models 200GT and 350).
Aircraft Services provides both fixed wing and helicopter services in support of BPA, as well as oversight responsibility for any contractor aviation services provided in support of BPA. These contractor services could include using helicopters to string conductor/insulators, brush removal, etc.; to providing additional fixed wing support. While most flights are within the Pacific Northwest, there are a number of flights into Canada and other parts of the U.S. Both the helicopter and airplanes are maintained and the pilots are trained in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 135.
You will make sole determination as pilot during flight regarding any deviation of route for efficient and safe operations; interpret weather reports from the FAA and other sources to determine altitude and route flew for VFR and IFR flight plans; and file flight plans with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Please Note: This is a full-time, Term position, not-to-exceed thirteen months. This appointment may be extended up to a total appointment of four years, but extension is not guaranteed. At the expiration of the 4-year period, the appointment will be terminated. A term appointment does not confer competitive (permanent) status nor entitle the term employee to non-competitive appointment to permanent positions or transfer to other agencies without competition. Term employees are eligible for coverage under the retirement system, health insurance, life insurance and Thrift Savings Plan (401K). Employees are also eligible to receive within-grade increases (periodic pay raises) if work performance is satisfactory and annual comparability pay increase as established by Executive Orders.

2. 1st or 2nd class FAA medical certificate; and
3. Minimum of 100 hours flight time in the last 12-months.
