That wasn't a gang sign I saw in SeaTac the other day...I've always envisioned that different carriers have their own gang signs they flash at each other in terminals of hotly contested hub airports.

Where do I put "feedin' the po' and helpin' out with dey billz" in on AirlineApps?Damn it feels good to be a gangster.
Unofficial hand signals are really handy. Unless, of course, they're misunderstood. Then you just look like an idiot, pantomiming out there on the ramp, then going up the jetway stairs anyway...That would be amazing.

Always wave.
And in the terminal, acknowledge your fellow pilots with the masculine head-nod.
I SAW DERG TYLOR IN ATLANTA AND HE DIDN'T NOD.See, when I don't head nod because I'm busy or I'm tired of acting like I have Tourettes in the ATL tunnels, I'd like to swiftly search the aviation internet to see who called me a anti-social sub commander.

FWIW, different fighter squadrons in the USAF have different hand signs they pass to their crew chiefs when taxiing out. For example, the Juvats in Korea do the "fighting snakes" thing with two fists, while the Pantons do the "hang loose" signal.

So, it's agreed then. Jazz hands!
