Pilot Inspires 5yo by Waving

You know I'd love to laugh however one of my really good friends was a Hmong immigrant and his mother was prego on the boat on the way over. They didn't speak English, except for my friend Vang, and they wanted to give their newborn an American name. They watched a lot of American television and movies and loved the film "Sharkey's Machine" because Burt Reynolds epitomized everything they thought an American male would be.

So they named him "Tharkey".

They passed on, "Bandit" or even, "Buford T"? WTH. But, Tharkey is hardcore and I like it!!! :)

I guess so!

Great family, I learned a lot from them when I was in high school. We'd bring Vang over for our version of whatever my parents were making and I'd hit all the Hmong festivals with him and play "Pov-Pob" with the Hmong girls. It was hilarious!

But Vang would say, "Remember, you will marry her entire clan if you like her".

Challenge NOT accepted.

LMAO. Had a dear friend, who's father owned a Japanese, Chinese and Polynesian restaurant here in Shreveport. Mr. Jo had 7 children that I knew very well. Went to school with most of them. His oldest sister, who was SMOKING HOT, was crushed on by damn near every teenage boy in Shreveport. My friend Chek, (we called him Chuck) told me the exact same thing when I made the comment about wanting to hook up with his oldest sister. His exact quote was, "You marry her one day, you're marrying this entire family", or (Famerey.....) ;)

Wish I had because she became a very successful doctor. And, happily married and 3 kids later at 49, she still is SMOKING HOT!!!!! :)

Great and beautiful family the, Jo's are.

[HASHTAG]#avgeek[/HASHTAG] post of the day. That 727 is going to fly again here in a month or so. Ferried PAE to BFI to go into the Museum.

Oh and you're old.

And I hope like hell they over video the entire trip, even tho it's not much of a trip.

The kid's already gotten to do something I will never experience: pushing the throttles up on an airliner.

I rode in a 207 when I was two years old, I still remember bits and pieces of it, it (among other things along the way) generally set the course of my life in the direction it went.

We have a video of me when I was five going on a flight with my dad on an old DC-8. I was trying to put my jacket (back when you had to dress up to nonrev!) in with the crew's because I was going to go up front and ride with my dad for the flight. Needless to was I've had the bug ever since I could remember.

Burt Reynolds was on my commute last night.
He's pretty frail now, but still rocking a sweet mustache.

The funny part about the whole commute was on leg two (Skywest -200) a 5-6 year old thought I was the pilot and wanted to take a picture with me.
My heart is two sizes too small and guarded by a battalion of Marines, but hey-Zeus christo, that was enough to make my night.
(I spoke with the FA and he was able to go up front when we landed)
