These are from the flight today from Bethel to Anchorage.

Interesting clouds out towards St. Lawrence Island. Sorry about the crappy quality.

Beautiful morning in Nome.

The Herc is always showing up at bed time, and it is loud.

The frozen lakes are an amazing blue. The pictures doesnt do it justice.

Thanks! It hasnt been too bad at all. It was usually about -5 in the mornings, but warm up to 25-30 during the day. I love the cold so it is perfect for me.

Nope. Not pressurized. Typically we are in the 8-9 thousand foot range.

You just don't now good airplanes. Casa 212 - Awesome. 787(or 7XX/AXX), who gives a •. It looks like all the other tubes in the sky.
Plus garretts make anything look sexy. Flat props!

Actually a very cool plane. Has character and makes you look twice to see it all. All the shiny jets look the same!

Much prefer the cold over the wind an monsoon rain of the Ketchikan area, but bush "lite" living still wins over the hardcore up north.

The bleed air does an amazing job of keeping the plane toasty. We close the cockpit door when we get in and turn on the heat.

Oh man! I don't get over here enough/very much! Those pics are amazing and just beautiful! I loved them! Going to show them to Sue. Damn, AK is so wondrous. I can't imagine having such incredible views every day I work. Lucky, lucky man. Sigh. Can't wait to see more.

Nice/interesting ride btw. There are loads of them flying in Europe and in various mountain ranges/remote areas all over the place and in Asia for example. I used to see them in Thailand and in the Philippines, as I remember. I read somewhere they use them in the Antarctic too. I've never seen one real close up or the inside of one though. How do you like her? If you have a chance and don't mind, can you post some flight deck and other interior pics? How much cargo can she carry?
