PEOPLExpress

Best to not provide facts. Makes controlling the discussion easier. Heaven forbid reality is acknowledged.

Correct information or bust. PeopleExpress and Vision is for opportunistic pilots? Is that what I am gathering?

What is correct info? Is vision still operating in gpt? And LAS? Is this people express deal temporary flying until they get their own operations up and running?
The GPT flying is going away. They are going to have a 737 doing canyon runs out of LAS. The PEX flying may or may not be temporary, I don't think either Vision or PEX management knows at this point.

Sounds like a great company

Vision Airlines had a federal subcontract with Capital Aviation in the summer of 2005 to fly supplies and people between Baghdad and Kabul. The government paid Capital Aviation about $27,000 for each round-trip flight through the war zones, and the contractor passed those funds on so that Vision Airlines could compensate pilots and crew under government guidelines for hazard pay.

Just two months into the contract, however, Vision allegedly stopped passing on the hazard pay and eventually fired everybody who remembered it, replacing them with employees who knew no better.

None in this thread are in management and make managerial decisions. That was incredibly wrong for the company to withhold the 767 pilots hazard pay and paid dearly for it when they lost the lawsuit. We simply just move the airplanes from point A to point B and try to make this place a decent place to work. People in this thread make it seem like we are at fault or there is something wrong with us for working here.

This is my first response in this thread and I have no stake in this, but from what I can see no one's saying that at all. Just that they wish everyone at Vision that it becomes a success, even if they don't think it's going to happen, and if the information is incorrect, then why not correct them, what is it?

Why do you want to know so bad? I started this thread just to inform folks about PEX. No need to turn this into a Vision thread. While we already know all the negativity involved with all this, the last thing we need is more negative comments that's already involved in the industry. You think the company will 6 months? Great, let us do our job to help them in the way we can.

I think the more pertinent question is "why do you want to hide it so bad?"

Look, if you REALLY wanna know that bad, look at Spirits payscale and read accordingly. Our payscale is not the topic of discussion. You have your answer now what?

I'm not even sure what that means. Does that mean that your pay scale is basically identical to Spirit's?

So to answer your question, NO, I don't have my answer yet. There's no reason to be so secretive and to talk in riddles. Everyone else just posts their pay scale. Why is this so difficult?

Dude. Enough with the complex. You have a cool job. Everyone hopes it works out. We are all curious to know how much they pay though if you don't mind providing that info.

Edit - just saw the pay provided above. Thanks.

This is ridiculous. That is great that you are providing photos and info about PEX, but don't expect that people aren't going to want to discuss the issues surrounding them in their current incarnation. This is a board for pilots, primarily those looking for jobs. Some of those job seekers will want to know the good and the bad along with the pay scale. Why not help them out? If anyone wants to discuss my employer, I provide them with my honest no BS assessment. I don't show them a couple of pictures of airplanes and then get upset when they ask a question about it.

Not sure how what I said indicates a complex....just a regular employee. Moving the plane from a to b and hoping to land a the correct airport....that is all

@SmoothLanderJ already posted a thread in the jobs available section describing pay and that Vision was hiring. But what you're not going to do is judge me based on this thread. Quite frankly you don't know me in person, or what I have done for those around me. I answered @ATN_Pilot's question and provided what our goal was with this operation. I have tried to remain professional throughout this thread while you and others bash the company and their intentions. Good for you. I'm not going to post about it any longer. Have a good night.:)
