Bright side is the rest of the country is hurting for pilots unlike 10+ years ago.I wish it was a joke.

I thought PenAir got out of 135 years ago. Isn't AKN, DLG, and DUT now mostly Grant?Chapter 11 now? Dammit, that's a bummer.
Big time opportunity in AKN, DLG, DUT, and MCG is on the horizon then...

The Alaska stuff isn't being changed by this. Yet.They still fly to all of those places 121
Came out in an email late last night.Where did you guys see DEN and PDX closing?
Not really sure how much time I have. So I am working really hard at finding new employment.Hope there is some time to rationalise things - @ASpilot2be there should be some time to plan your next move or for restructuring to happen?
For me, the interesting thing is that I hold gaining CFI as my greatest achievement, vs other career awards, degrees etc.
Aviation is definitely a profession, but I wouldn't ascribe any other blue/white tags to it.
Alex.

JC has been an amazing help. We have amazing people here.
Already on it.I'm trying to get CP to give you guys an expedited interview and class date. Would be great to even send a recruiter to PDX. Makes sense since we have a growing Seattle base; but I'm just a line pilot.

Not to be Mr. Fashionista, but damn I wish there was a little more willingness to look "put together" at work these days.
I had a guy give me crap one morning in ABQ to go get breakfast. "Glad to see you dressed up for ABQ." I had a polo on, khaki shorts and topsiders (it was summer). He had the typical Captain look, jeans with a tucked in t shirt. He then proceeded to tell me all about the glory days of international flying and how much they dressed up for those trips.A couple years ago I had a guy give me a hard time about my Sambas and untucked "Mad Scientists don't build giant evil robots....Mad Engineers do" t-shirt.
He was rockin' the white sneaks and fanny pack look, so I held his fashion critique in rather low regard.
We were in SEA so I'll leave it to your imagination who blended better.

Dude, it's too early for that crap, especially without my damn coffee and chile rellenos
I live in ABQ. As long as you're wearing clothes and not high on meth, you're ahead of most othersI had a guy give me crap one morning in ABQ to go get breakfast. Hahaha. Dont know where they get that impression of you. Now that we have filed Chapter 11 and closing bases, I will take anywhere that pays me.Glad to hear you're ok for now. I don't know if you a desire to work at At Less, but they'd probably scoop you up if you wanted it. No degree is probably a plus (you're probably an overqualified flight risk if you have one these days, haha). I'd offer to help, but the last guy I tried to "help" was in the hiring pool, and got flushed out a few days after I turned my letter of rec in for him, haha. Apparently they look at my recommendations like a political endorsement from Kim-Jong Un. I don't blame you a bit if you wanted to stay away from this place though.
