Peltor Headsets

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the market for a new headset as my old David Clark, which I bought used anyway, seems to be dying on me. I've been fooling around on Sporty's webpage and found these slick looking Peltor headsets. I've never heard of this brand but the lifetime warranty they offer plus the liquid/foam earphones seem attractive.

Does anybody have any experience with Peltor? Here's a link of the product I'm considering.

Thanks,
Mike McM

Ask montanapilot (here on JC). He knows all about the Peltors.

If you like those, then have a looksy at these:

They are ANR and have an auxiliary audio input for a cell phone or MP3 Player.

Here are all the reviews:

For the same money as the Pelts, you can get the same passive plus a bit of active noise reduction...AND the aux input which is awesome. The AvShops are about an ounce heavier, and the earpads are conforming foam (but those can be replaced if you don't like them).

I have these and LOVE them...but your mileage may vary. I use the aux input with a cheap MP3 player and have all of my checklists recorded. I hit play and just go right down the line!

Be sure you let us know what you do end up getting!

Peltors are great, most comfortable headset I ve ever had

but if your going with another passive you might as well get your DC fixed, they will fix anything you have (read Ready2Fly's thread about DC customer service).

If you do get a peltor spend the extra money and get an ANR you wont regret it and neither will your hearing. Once you fly with ANR you will never go back.

plus marv golden is a heck of alot cheaper than sportys.

If you want ANR on a slim budget then look at Headsets, Inc.. These guys make an awesome ANR retrofit that you can put in just about any headset. I've got their ANR in my helmet and love it. They're great people too and their service is top notch.
