I have to admit when I fly Delta I often exit the aircraft feeling violated as well.

If the girls story is accurate, I can't see how it's plausible to get your hand wedged underneath the buttocks of a person while sleeping and not notice. I've had people's hands rest on top of my leg and a head rest on my shoulder while they slept. I simply moved their hand and that was the end of it.

Unfortunately, it's still "he said, she said" so without witnesses we can't know what truly happened. Also, I'm not sure why the fact she was on crutches was relevant to the story.

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, maybe it's just me, but no way can i get in a deep enough sleep in an airplane sleep where my hand turns palm up in a very unnatural position and make it under somebody's ass.

Personally, I'd like a ride to wherever I'm going. Having to think, "is the armrest up? is it down? am I a target for litigation because I have a uniform on and be provoked into a situation where I get fired and they get frequent flier status? Etc…"

Nah. No thanks. Just like when my mother mentioned that I could be a substitute teacher when I was barely making ends meet as a CFI. "Ha! You're hilarious!" :)

Don't blame you a bit. My wife has represented juveniles and she has represented child molesters. She repeatedly warns me about the little liars.

Yep, pretty scary. I'm not saying it's the case in this particular incident, but you know if an accusation like that gets thrown at a man he's probably going to jail first, getting asked questions later, and having his reputation tarnished either way if he actually did anything or not. There was some airline a while back that instituted a policy where UMs couldn't sit next to male passengers. Pretty screwed up if you ask me... but then again going along with the other point, maybe it's for the guy's benefit after all.

His reputation is toast forever regardless of how this turns out, especially at our middle school airline. I had a FA this week gossiping about "that guy that burned that house down and killed that guy." I was like "yeah, didn't he get acquitted of that and return to work." She says "yeah, but... c'mon." Clearly gossip and hearsay will always trump a jury verdict based on evidence in the view of the common public.
 
I teach my daughters to scream bloody murder the second something like this starts. Why didn't the girl make an incredible scene .3 micro seconds after she felt a hand on her butt?

Well... maybe the "there's less oxygen up there" defense is pending...

Personally, I woulda quick quaffed an Ambien for the testing. You can do anything under Ambien and get away with it... including, presumably, taking more Ambien. :D
