Not making any guess about this guy's guilt or innocence - but why on earth would anybody make any statement to the police other than "I am invoking my right to remain silent?" Anything you say will be used against you... do people just not get it?

Eh, his story is entirely plausible. I can see where this could have been a misunderstanding or an accident. Ive had people fall asleep and drift my way on a few occasions.

Don't believe it is plausible at all - I would never put the arm rest up between myself and any female, especially not a 14 year old girl. There is absolutely no reason too. I am sure if he was sitter next to Bubba the tabacco farmer he would not have raised the seat rest.
