I'm gonna have to start taking a break from APC. Some of the XJ guys over there are out of control. If this thing goes through, it's gonna take all my willpower not to knife their holier-than-thou punk asses in the throat in the crew room....
Indapit said:1.For all you 9E guys up in arms, where were you the last three years and what have you done? 2I have been at the airlines for over three years now and you have had one picketing event in three years before last friday. 3Do you ever wonder why your negotiations are such a failure? 4If you were a couple years into negotiations and nothing was coming from it, I might feel bad for you. 5But 5+ years and two TAs later and nothing to show for it, that is pretty poor. 6Blame it on whoever you want.......it is your own fault.
1+2Hey Pinnacle pilots, boy here we are again trying to get this silly JCBA done. I followed your TA closely and I sure was disappointed how that turned out. I tell you, up in Minne we haven't had any break in the snow and my deadhead yesterday ended up in the Grand Forks airport sleeping on the floor because 500 plus pax diverted there. What a cluster hu? Ah Delta... anyway I digress. I heard that picket didn't go great, we are getting some mixed signals from the 3 MECs and I'm doing the best I can with the information I have. Obviously, this is quite a pickle we are in but I think a little healthy discussion is important for any pilot group. I'm a little pressed for time and the holidays are stressful so I'll try and make this brief for everyone. 3I'm worried that since you're TA1 went so far off course, that some of those same people are on the JCBA. If not the same people, possibly similarly driven? Man I've heard so many stories from Pinnacle pilots on what went wrong on the TA1 I just don't know what to think. My guys, the Mesaba guys, did a great job for us and we'd really feel comfortable if they led the way. I know you all aren't stupid or anything, but I like this company a lot and this merger with Phil the Terrible makes me so worried sometimes I forget that we are all pilots together. Soon one pilot group even! 4+5 However, in the mean time, I can't tell you how terrible a feeling it is to have my future out of control and contract + holidays are stressing me out. I hope I don't take anything out on you. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of direction from the Pinnacle pilot group with this picket, I'm worried you guys might be making a mistake but I certainly understand reasonable people disagree. 6 Things are getting ugly between our groups and I see everyone has a desire to blame each other. I hope you educate yourselves on our position further and realize there is no reason to blame us for anything. Both sides are doing some political side stepping, the important part is that when this contract is done we are going to be one pilot group and we have to fly with each other safely I gotta get back to Christmas shopping, Wife hates is I'm on the computer all the time, but this is how I relieve merger stress these days. Go figure, I vent, just like others, thinking that it is healthy and we all end up making things worse doing what comes as a natural stress reliever. Toodles!
anic: Get outta my head!! Time to wear the tinfoil hat...
Heh, yeah THAT thread. I see you picked up on that.
I'm all for trying to understand everyone's position. Hell, that's why I talk to people in the first place. However, once I start getting the "You guys are cowboys and just don't want to go with the majority" or "You'll be thankful that you've got the XJ pilots and our MEC knows everything," it starts to get old. I'd lay odds that if the positions were switch and the XJ MEC were the ones organizing the picketing and the 9E and 9L pilots were saying it was wrong, they'd be just a vehemntely supporting it as the 9E guys are now. Don't tell them that, though. That would negate their whole "majority rules" argument. I just don't undestand how we can have a lot of pilots that were ready to join the 9E guys suddenly flip and say "Nope. 6 guys said it's a bad idea, so you guys are all half-cocked nut jobs." Maybe I just don't trust anyone anymore, but I'd want to know the motivation past "we're making progress."

By the way, I'm getting an early news release from the Mec's office... yes... yes, it's coming through now on the teletype. I'm quoting here, "We're making progress". Alright so there you have it. Everything is fine.![]()
Also I'd like to add, indapit may have a few loose screws as I continue reading his rants. Where is Walt from Mesaba to bring some saged levity to all this? Of course he's probably wiser than me being off this silly machine.
I'm all for spirited disagreement. That's normal and expected. But the "we're better than you" attitude is gonna have to go before the SLI I don't care which airline you currently fly for. We're all equally gonna get screwed by management in the end. I saw Walt in another thread in the General section, but he hasn't poked his head in here. Probably smarter than both of us put together.
I would hope those XJ pilots on APC are the ones on reserve with nothing better to do than to come on there and rant idiotic things. There's a few on there that can hold a reasonable conversation but the majority is who's weiner is bigger than who's. It sucks it has gotten out of control like this. At least on here we can have an intelligent conversation without it getting out of control. Like someone mentioned, when it's all said and done, we need to all get together and have a wings and beer session. Heck I don't know most of you but the first round of beers are on me, because frankly, I'm better than you. I'M KIDDING!!!
I always thought that the bored guy makes good points and a few of the other guys on there are fine. Even Indapit seemed ok but now it seems like he/she has fallen into bad form. O well, let the meltdown continue!
Oh, and I'm better than you nc.
You're not on the turboprop anymore. You can't say stuff like that if your on the "9". Speaking of which, you holding a good schedule on the jet? We are going from like 7 reserve lines to like 16 up in DTW. I'll be sitting on my arse for the next 6 months doing nothing. Well that and ready reserve every damn day.
Yeah I would really like this to be over. I don't have high expectations but it would be nice to cancel the picket on Friday due to a TA being reached. Its all I am asking for this Christmas.
Oh yeah, the 900 schedules are good stuff. I've got it good, even though I don't fly anymore and jets are for sissy's. I miss the old Saab.
/side rant
I was close to bidding back into the saab because I wanted nothing to do with the -900. However I remember what flying dead equipment was like at Colgan (1900) and it was miserable. Anyway, wasn't going to do that to myself all over again when I could get the fat per diem check and make the company pay for another (sic) type . If it made any financial sense I'd be on the saab still, begging to fly yd only back and forth from GLH and TUP. O well, maybe Colgan will bring back the 1900.
/end rant.
Joe, I think raytheon gave LVG back to us...something about unfit for service or whatever... Cause its a1900 we know that's a load of crap. If you play nice I bet they will let you fly it!
