There are two types in the Prick classification: those with nothing whatsoever to offer; those with a lot to offer. Due to the nature of the class, you'll have to dig (endure) before you can make the determination. For me it's worth it.

Right now I'm thinking of my very good friend who is positively prehistoric and has been in aviation for a very long time. He flew the very first CatIII in his C-185 and his primary cert was signed by Roscoe Turner (who in turn had his signed by Orville). His credentials are impecable. The FAA and top tier avaition companies go to him for consultation. The list of folks he's helped reads like a who's who in aviation.

He's a bear with the heart of a kitten. As in any relationship, you will get ticked from time to time. Sure, he's rubbed me raw sometimes but I keep coming back. But it's not like trying again and one last time. As much as he has to offer in aviation knowledge, the person he is is worth knowing. I would be denied this friend if I had decided he wasn't worth it. It would be my loss.

However, I do have a list of people I will not associate with and will avoid. They are the sandpaper people. Even after having dug deep, there is nothing there worth knowing yet every reason to avoid. Those people are not simply abrasive, they seek to tear down. My friend, while abrasive, seeks to build up people. That is the difference.

I used to be on flightinfo till I got kicked off, good riddance. Was anyone here on Clearandamillion?

I like PPW, the $12 keeps the rif raff out, and lots of good info gets passed on there. I like coming on here and screwing around with all the RJ pilots.

I rarely get worked up about what one of "my imaginary freinds" on some stupid website thinks about me. Even when I do, I view it as my own fault for letting some random internet poster get under my skin.

However, IMHO, the type of persone who gets their kicks by provoking constant fights in any forum shows some serious chracter flaws. Just because "it's the internet, not real life" means nothing to me if you dispaly that kind of chracer here, then what can I expect in the rest of your life.

OTOH, I personally had another Marine physicaly kick my ass to try to make me see the light. I got thrashed in the paint booth because I screwed up and didn't seem to care about the consquences.

Why would I refuse to hire someone just because they are a prick on the web, while I would give a man who beat me up anything he needed? One is a bully and the other actually cared. That is all the difference in the world.

Clearandamillion was an interesting group but it had a fatal flaw. Ultimately it was nothing more than a reaction to flightinfo. Nothing that really defined it to make it stand out.

Wow. I remember avbug from the ipilot forums back when I was trying to get my PPL. I rmemebr people giving him a lot of gruff for being abravise, but a few managed to see through that and get some good advice.
