Past pilot forums and members

Anyone here familiar with the old ILSApproach.com? I'm looking for "TIS" or "Red" from that forum. Also, Mike (Avbug) from StudentPilot.net from years ago.

I like it, it doesn't have the "family feel" JC has, it's more of a professional environment. So Pro's & Con's. However it's a 1000x better then APC though.

It's alright. I don't have to pay $12 to be told that I'm unprofessional for not flying a business jet. ;)

aviation forums are like wives. One is more than enough for any man.

Take that a step further and with a new forum, like a new woman, you never know where to look, click, what to read, how to read the poster personality....things can get ugly really quickly!

Avbug is no longer on PPW. TIS is there, but he rarely posts anymore. You might find him in the photography forum as he seemed to be quite keen on that.

Anybody ever read TIS's book?

Whatever your issues are with PPW, that's not the vibe there at all. I know it didn't work out over there for you, but it's a good place for professional development and networking, biz jet or not.

Well, let's just put it this way: There are a lot of former PPW members for one reason or another. I certainly had mine.

Bailed from flightinfo after the founder died and things got weird, tried PPW after I got my commercial ticket but I just never really felt included.

How come no one ever complains about the "Please come back!" junk mail from PPW? ;)

JC is a much more positive environment than both of those places I think. (Thanks Doug!)

And when I think "abrasive personality," I think Avbug ;) Knowledgeable guy, no doubt, just not much for civil discourse.

Hmmmm... There are other forums outside of Jetcareers??? Man I am missing out... lol Kidding, with the awesome atmosphere of friends and family on here, in addition to the professionalism we all maintain :insane: who needs another forums. I am happy here

Alot of SJS at APC that is for sure...I also dislike how they don't welcome non-working pilots. So what about the guys like myself or many others on JC who are working towards doing this for a living? We can't join APC?

And as you are trying to figure out the functions, the O/S is being quietly updated to "new and improved."
