Part 142, "Bustin' Balls", ERAU and Chris Ford's Signature

Re: How DARE they strike!

Yep, thats pretty misleading.

You need 250 hours, of which howver many can be in a simulator. Which is not flight time. The schools sure act like it is though. Tell you are getting 200 Hours and in reality 50 is simulator and another 55 is Shared safety pilot scams. Don't get me started on that now.

Sorry folks, even I forgot what the basic title of the thread was so I merged them into a new one.

I mentioned it earlier... upwards of 50 hours FTD...

So you had like 220TT in an actual aircraft and 50~TT in an FTD adding up to, lemme do the math...

270TT

So you had the 250TT min needed for part 61, but some was replaced by FTD. How much is allowed to be replaced by FTD is the question though. Obviously you did it, but is there a limit?

270TT

Perhaps 270 "total total time" but I use the TT column in my logbook for total flight time...

Right, same here but I meant for satisfying the part 61 mins for the liscence thats how it worked out...

On that note... I need to use less dancing banana people...

So you're still paying a ridiculous amount of money for the same education everyone else gets.

I pay $70 an hour wet for those. and under $30,000 for my complete package.
What airport is that at and what year is that 172?

I pay $119/hr + $50/hr for instruction. Thats $169 per hour. Thats only like $10-20 more per hour and I do the sims every once and a while it it really does even out to normal...

I've said time and again that going to an aviation university is a waste of money, that's coming from my personal experience. If I could do it over again, I'd be at ASU, hanging out with you and Kristie :p

Like the year matters?

We have a 1969 C172K and a 1975 C172M both IFR Certified and Fly just as good as your do.
Or you can fly tweetyBird our C150 for $55 an hour if you want cheap time.
