Its just says that I enjoy flying...:whatever:

For your information riddle is a pt. 142 now...

There are no hour limitations for any ratings in exchange for more stage checks. I can get ratings faster and then build my hours wokring as a CFI. I may have as many as 100 hours less than most by the time I get my CFI (I should have about 250TT). I can build the difference in about a month instructing...

It may cost more per hour but I need less time so it ends up costing about the same...

142 sucks. All that sim time sucks. I cant see the airlines feeling too warm about alot of sim time from a new hire. Them level D sims arent that much cheaper than the 172 anyways.

I don't think I want a CFI with 100 LESS hours than normal.

Oh and 250TT is the time required under Part 61 for a CFI.

Once again you managed to sound cocky, by stating that you can be a CFI faster than anyone elses program. I understand what you are saying, but I guarantee a rip coming. :)

WELL GOSH, I HAD YOU ALL WRONG!

I got my CFI at ~220 TT (part 61, and that's not any sort of attempt at bragging), so I doth believe you are not only cocky, but gullible. How was the ERAU salesman to you? Did he give you a shiny pair of wings to go with your $150,000 bumper sticker?

Enjoy the sim. Maybe they'll get you a CRJ type too, that would be t3h 4w3s0m3.

Like I said. ERAU is a PART 142...

It doesnt matter what the part 61 is if your under part 142...

In that case I wont have 100 less hours than normal will I?

Your twisting my words and you know it man, what a crock of •!.

Re: How DARE they strike!

Ive got a 142 question. I herd somewere that the airlines were not allowed to count Sim time towards a new hires total time...is this true?

Why??

Oh and 250TT is the time required under Part 61 for a CFI.

250TT is the requirement for commercial pilot under part 61, no hour requirment is stated, other than having to hold a commerical or ATP cert. I had my commerical cert at 190 hours (part 141) and my CFI at 210. (splitting hairs, I know :) )

Once again you managed to sound cocky, by stating that you can be a CFI faster than anyone elses program. I understand what you are saying, but I guarantee a rip coming. :)

Nothing cocky in his statment at all, part 142 has its advantages, you pass a checkride when you are ready, not when you do two more lessons in the pattern to get that .8 hobss time to meet a time requirement. Part 142 has its disadvantages too.

Is it beer thirty yet?

OK let me recap, you said about 250TT and you will have your CFI in a prior post.

The requirement under Part 61 is 250 hours to get your commercial which is a requirement to get your CFI. So therefore 250 hours is the minimum hours for a CFI under Part 61. Now again you said 250TT for your CFI, how is that 100 hours less than Part 61?

Oh and Chris how did you manage a CFI at 220 hours under Part 61? 250 hours is the requirement for commercial.

Now S40 Volvo dude, where did I twist your words?

Posterchild of Purdue University...cool...

If i put "(This is not some sort of attempt at being cocky)" would everything be ok then?:D

You answered your own question. Once you have a Commercial cert, under any part (61, 141, 142, mil flight time conversion, etc) you can get the required training and take your CFI ride.
