P-47 crashes in Hudson River

Very well.
I too, am very sorry to learn that you lost your friend. It's especially difficult when it comes out of the blue and so unexpected like this. One moment they are with us and the next, not. It's painful, and I understand. Let people know on here if there is anything that you need. Take care. - Gerry

I'm sorry for your loss. Also, I apologize for my insensitive comment earlier in the thread.
Nah man, it's the Internet, you had no idea.

Also, thank you to everyone for the kind words. Heard today his son came down to the city to pick up Bill's pup Vinny. Probably the most well behaved dog out there. Always loved giving him pets as he laid in Bill's truck with the fan pointed at him.

Rest in peace, my friend.

Met through good friends down in Key West in the air show circuit.
So very sorry for your loss. Not that it any way assuages your pain, but in a very small way, I hope that there is some comfort in the knowledge that your friend was carrying on the legacy of our greatest generation on this most important of weekends. What a gift to us all that we are able to see these amazing airplanes and remember the men and women to whom we owe thanks for our freedom. In his own way, your friend preserved that legacy and we are also indebted to him.
