A90 (Boston Tracon) FacRep. For those who don’t know, earlier this year Congress passed a 2.8% raise for ATC to be implemented at the discretion of the Administrator. That 2.8% on top of the 1% we got in January would bring us to parity with the raises given to federal LEO and the military. He has decided to withhold that raise until we “increase productivity”. NATCA has remained silent. Trumps current proposal for 2027 is 7% for military and 0% for federal civilian employees. Meanwhile inflation continues to rise, the ballroom construction continues, pond linings get installed poorly, and we bomb Iran to distract from the fact that Trump rapes kids.

@NovemberEcho please know that I have already written to my congressional representatives about this. I don't know what else an average pilot can do to shine more light on this crap.

As far as if/when this becomes unsustainable and delays start becoming more frequent due to controller shortages, I don't know a single professional pilot who wouldn't be happy to tell the people who are asking them "what is going on" the honest truth.

Thank you for all that you people do on too little rest and for too little pay. We pilots appreciate it.

This probably falls in the realm of unintended consequences. The Examiner is a hyper-conservative mouth-frothing rag of a publication. It's not taken seriously by anyone (at their peril, I will concede) in Washington unless they're just high on the echo chamber.

At least, if there are people who take it seriously they're clearly in a very small, not loud club.

But even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time, etcetera...

Tbf it was this reporter that Sens Duckworth and Durban quoted when lambasting Bradford. Couldn’t quote NATCA cause they have no comment about everything.

To be fair, the "pay parity" language and the legislation itself was developed and lobbied for by the NATCA legislative committee and our government affairs team, and made possible by our PAC. The problem is that the leadership at the top is horrible at messaging and even worse at wielding the tools that the long-term activists in the background have spent long years cultivating.

I would not expect a rag like the Washington Examiner to report on or clarify that to its readership or the thousands of disgruntled employees who think natca has been sitting on their hands. I will say though it is not their job to educate our membership, that responsibility falls on the leadership and it is one of their many failures.
